It's been a little while since I posted but my LO arrived and I have the birth story and a few pictures up! I'll start the parenting journal soon :flower:

He is so so precious !
And I read your birth story and it was so incredible. You did a great job !
How is breastfeeding? Is it hard? I'm going to try, hope its not to difficult for me :)

I know a lot of people have problems with breastfeeding and I was praying I wasn't going to be one of them, because somethings you can't fix and I was so hoping both baby and I were able to do it!

Good news is we are, and I'm actually really lucky because apparently I have a "great milk supply" But it was no walk in the park for me! I thought it was you whip you boob out and slap the baby on there but it's actually pretty hard! You have to get the latch perfect or else it'll hurt, if breastfeeding hurts AT ALL you are doing something wrong! (most likely the latch).

And if you just keep feeding through the pain instead of trying to fix the problem (which is what I did at first) then your nipples blister and crack and it hurts like 10x more :( I luckily have a great lactation consultant at my hospital that taught me exactly what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it, and she taught me a lot and gave me great advice! (Like what is best to put on my blistering nipples, and how if I keep trying to feed through the pain it'll get worse.. I need to pump then use bottled breast milk when the pain is too bad and let my nipples heal)

The reason I'm telling you my entire breastfeeding experience is because its SO worth it! I think it's great that we live in a world where if you physically can't breastfeed they make alternative formula so you baby can actually eat, but if you research breast vs formula the benefits are absolutely crazy and vary from reducing risk of breast caner to helping your uterus shrink back to size sooner after birth! Breastfeeding was very hard for me but don't give up! Its so worth it I honestly thought it would be really weird but after I did it I love it! It's so natural and its such a great bonding with baby. I 100% recommend it even through the tough times and blistery nipples!

and fye, you literally shoot milk out once it comes in fully! I've sprayed baby in the face several times trying to latch on! :haha: it gave me and OH quite a laugh..

Congrats on the beautiful baby! I hope I don't have breast feeding problems when mine arrives! Thank you for sharing your breastfeeding experience and reassuring things!

Thank you!:flower:
I didn't think many would be looking for me but I'll go post something just in case there's others :)

And I'm still feeding! :D It's still hard and frustrating at times but the only way to get better is practice practice practice! I'm not in a lot of pain anymore just trying to work on getting the latch perfect.. eventually it will be is what I keep telling myself! :haha:
