I'm sad but so pissed at the fact that his first doctor never noticed this , we mentioned about him spitting up so many times and she just laughed and said it was normal ..

Well yesterday we took him to his new doctor as hes always stuffed and cant sleep and still spitting up loads..Turns out he has reflux all along ..poor bub :cry:

We were told to buy similac(alimentum) its freaking expensive shit let me tell ya , we bought 4 cans which make 6 onz each :( But he wont have anything to do with it He will cry push it away and scream ..so After I gave him his zantac I gave him a bottle of his regular formula and he had 8 onz and fell asleep..

My question is , Is this new formula even worth it now that he is almost 7 months or should I just give him his regular one and stick to the zantac till he over the reflux..His tummy dose not hurt or anything hes always smiling and playing but spits up if he kicks around or bends over ..so can I stick to his regular formula ? will he be able to have cows milk ?

Any tips for making it better with out meds is appreciated

I have no idea hun!!
But reading your thread made me worry. Oliver is sick ALL the time. Like you said - if he lies down, even if he's just sitting - out it falls!
I mentioned it to the health visitor, but same response. He'll get over it.
We have a docs appointment on the 19th. Do you think I should mention it then, or get an earlier one? He's not upset by it at all - it's just an inconvenience.
Sorry to hijack your thread!!

Ollie has just been diagnosed with reflux so I'm new to all this myself so sorry I can't help either hun but know how you feel xxx

Kat, here are the symptoms of reflux:

* constant or sudden crying or colic like symptoms
* irritability and pain
* poor sleep habits typically with frequent waking
* arching their necks and back during or after eating
* spitting-up or vomiting
* wet burp or frequent hiccups
* frequent ear infections or sinus congestion

Ollie was constantly sick inbetween feeds to the point one night he got through every babygro he owns and all his bedding. He would be sick through his nose aswell and was unsettled between feeds sometimes. He was still gaining weight though which with reflux you can, it just means it's not a bad case. If Oliver is being sick even long after he's had a feed he could well have it. When I took Ollie to the docs, he only picked Ollie up and Ollie was sick through his nose and that was enough for the doc to be convinced as I'd fed him 3 hours earlier and that still happened. Hope Oliver is ok hun xxx

Ben also has reflux. We were given stuff to thicken his milk but no meds. It seems to be helping.

Well the meds seem to be helping pretty well he hasent spit up since he took them , hes on them for one month but im so worried they will hurt him in the long run , I stopped tring to give him the special milk he will not have it , I tried from 9am till 2 pm all he had was 1 onz so I stopped and went back to his milk instead .

Glad the meds are working and yeah I'd have done the same with the milk, going back to his normal milk x

taking mu cub today to see if thats why she been so miserable the last week n change just took her last week n the dr said the same to me its all normal...now they said bring her back in
