As the title says, Daniel is being treated for reflux as he just isn't keeping any of his milk (well not alot) down. He is using aptimil comfort as he's bad with colic too. He crys lot's during the day too. Bless him.

So today the dr has prescribed him a thickener to put in his milk to see if that helped, tried gaviscon but it didn't do much and to be honest made the milk get clogged up in the teats. Hopefully this new stuff will work.

Sorry for pointless thread but i just wanted to share this with someone and maybe if anyone has any previous knowledge on this could help me out a little. Cheers x

No advice but Lola is the same.

She's on aptamil comfort for colic and gaviscon for reflux. The gaviscon isn't really working but doc has told me to stick with it if I can because she is gaining weight and it doesn't seem to bother her too much - she's just sick A LOT!

I've just changed to cow and gate today actually to see if it makes any difference! Doc said it would do no harm to try x

I'd heard that you shouldnt use Gaviscon if you're using a comfort/anti reflux formula as this thickens it even more so... I could be wrong tho  You could always try the next size up in teats if they're getting clogged with the thickened milk.

Have you tried sma staydown? It's supposed to work wonders. xxxx

Finlay suffers with reflux and is on ranitidine and domperione but normal aptamil and his now a totally changed baby. If his still being sick a lot dont let them fob you off as his putting on weight as lets be honest it not going to be nice for baby

Omar is suffering frm reflux & is on Aptamil AR. He's much better, but still a bit sick after every feed. It doesnt seem to bother him, when he gets sick he just laughs & giggles. Today, I found him in his cot covered with sick & he was playing happily I had to carry him to DH & show him how funny he looks. Dont worry as long as he's gaining weight & is happy, it doesnt really matter as once u start weaning they will grow out of it.

We used to se Gaviscon but changed to SMA Staydown. We are also on ranitidine and domperidone. Staydown has been great!

Been given something called thixo-d which has to be added to the milk, we have basically had to make big holes in his bottles though as it gets very thick. He's only had one bottle with it in so far, but he seems much calmer tonight (i've even been able to put him in his rocker for the first time since he was a week old). So i will stick on this and see how he goes, if no improvement i shall ask about the ranitidine.

Thank you all for the advice xx
