My baby is now massive?

I had a dietician appointment for my LO for her allergies, while we were there she decided to measure and weigh her for us.

When she was born she was just under 7lb and 52 cm so average-small. She tracked on the 50th centile for weight (aside from a blip where she dropped to the 25th) and tracked between the 9th and 25th for height.

Yesterday, she was still just shy of the 50th centile for weight, but she is now between the 75th and the 91st for length! The dietician was so shocked that she measured her several times and asked someone else to do so too.

Im 5ft 2.5 and my oh is 5ft 8 so we are both small people, I'm actually the tallest female in my family, no one in ohs family is tall either.

People have been commenting on how tall she is recently but I always respond "no, she's tiny" - now I feel silly! Lol!

52cm is pretty long for a girl at birth, about the 95th centile. Sounds like she's meant to be long to me! Possibly her length hasn't been accurately measured between birth and now? My daughter was plotted on the 75th for length for ages by a nurse but she was actually more like the 9th.

I wouldn't worry about it she will probably stop growing in Length so much soon and just chub out s little bit xx

We're the same! DS was right down at the 25th at month old for weight and I've seen him climbing the percentiles rapidly since then. He was weighed the other day in hospital and already weighs 10kg! He has always been fairly long though, but is now nearly at the 91st for length too. DH and I are like how on earth did we produce such a huge child when we're both average height and slim build, DH being half Chinese?! Our only guess is that as DH's Dad was adopted there must have been some super big DNA in his roots (although he was only 5'6 himself).
Everyone who meets DS thinks he is about a year old - he's already in 12-18 month clothes, and as he is currently sprouting his 7th tooth and has loads of hair so I think when we're out and about people must think he is a really slow developing toddler who can currently only sit up, clap and wave (no rolling, crawling etc). I always feel the need to quickly get his age out there
