My 5 week old vomits everyday with such force it literally flies everywhere, and comes out through her nose, and there so much of it when she does.

It happens once a day on average (was twice today) She drenches herself and usually me in sick and we both need to change afterwards.

DD1 never had this, I don;t understand it:nope: I wind her well but it makes no difference.

She is breastfed and gaining weight nicely, its just awful to see it happen to my baby.

Anyone else's baby doing this? Is there anything I can do?
xx

My baby is around the same age and doing exactally the same but he is bottlefed, havent got a clue why but it doesnt seem to bother him. HV is coming out on wednesday so i am going to ask then x x x

This happened to my LO quite a lot and I managed to attribute it to gripe water and infacol. For whatever reason neither agree with her. Since I stopped using these, the projectile vomiting has stopped too. Don't know if you are using either of these but if you are it might be worth a try stopping them for a few days xx

Do you eat dairy ? Alex done that on me and when I cut out dairy it stopped he had a reflux. Very sensitive at the start to what you eat. He is ok now though I eat whatever I want.

My LO used to do this when she was conjested....doc told me to visit him immediately if this happens for more than a week everyday...

My daughter did that at that age (:
I spoke to my HV and she said it's fine, it's just because the baby's digestive systems still getting used to digesting the milk
I found that if I winded her during and straight after a feed it made it worse. So I began giving her 5-10 minutes rest after a feed before winding her and it stopped (:

Good luck

My LO was doing this and it was because I have a fast let-down and he was getting too much, too fast, with probably too much air. I started block feeding him and letting my milk spray into a rag before latching him on, and the problem disappeared immediately!

And I found the opposite to be true for us re: burping. If I burp him during and directly after a feed, he projectile'd less than if I tried to let him sit for a second (you know, to cover myself back up! :haha:)... so I have to basically get him upright and with a burp rag handy within seconds after he unlatches so that I can burp him. Bra clipping and pulling my shirts back into place can only happen after he's been sufficiently burped!! :haha:

Lol that shows that every babies different :haha: however I FF so maybe thats a factor too

I had a friend who's son threw up every time he ate he had to have surgery because he had pyloric stenosis

My brother had pyloric stenosis and would literally projectile vomit every feed. He had an op and was absolutely fine after.

Ds did this and was diagnosed with cows milk protein and lactose allergy. Tried cutting dairy out of my diet and big improvement. Once I stopped breast feeding he was prescribed hypoallergenic formula

i was going to suggest this as my sister had it as a baby and had to have an operation. But since the baby only vomits once or twice a day it wont be pyloric stenois thankfully :flower:

Maybe she has GERD. My LO was this way at 1 week for a week. Then I said something to peditrician. She said for us to try thickening his formula feeds 2 teaspoons of rice cereal for one ounce of formula. If that didn't work bring him in and she'd do an ultrasound on him. Sure enough he's 3 1/2 weeks old and stopped barfing like that. So for him it was GERD.
