he does't take naps in the day unless he is on us, and won't sleep at night unless we are laying tummy to tummy and he is feeding untill he sleeps and then i can gently roll him over. he screams as soon as i put him down (sometimes i get a few minutes first). he screams in his carseat, in his pram, underneath a playmat..

has anyone got any experience with this, all the other babies at my nct class will happily sleep in the prams, on their backs or just chill on their own.. although its (kind of cute) its mainly annoying and i can't get anything done!..

when have yours got better at being left alone?
hes never since the day we brought him home been happy anywhere but on someone.

Alexander was like that and he still is most of the time :S thankfully he has at least one nap during the day. I used to have to be cuddling him for him to sleep.

House work will have to wait. Your baby will be glued to you, make your baby secure by just going wit hit and soon as this passes your baby will be confident enough to know you arnt going to abandon them in a crib. I co sleep so and have mind fall asleep on me then tranfer to bed so I dont have that prob any more. This to shall pass remember.

"This too shall pass," even when it feels like nothing will ever change. One day every parent will look back on this period with a sweet longing and an amazement that it went by so quickly! These early years are an opportunity to enjoy a baby's love in all its purity.

Agree with Dragonfly. Nothing is more important than the closeness to mother, in the first year. This shold not be treated as if it is a problem, but as if it is a gift. One that one day will only be a memory.

Going to be honest. Isla is still pretty much like that. She'll sleep beside me now, rather than on me, which is a plus.
She is gaining confidence though, as long as I am near and she can see me, she will happily be held by someone else or play with her toys. I don't think it lasts forever

Cameron was really like that we just had to keep a hold of him, not a lot can be done til he stops needing to be on you :hugs:

"Cooking and cleaning can wait till tomorrow,
For babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow.
So settle down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm nursing my baby and babies don't keep."

Hun, I echo what dragonfly and hot_tea have said, your LO is tiny. My toddler still does this!, I am a firm believer that she will grow out of it, and its getting much much easier as shes getting older. Infact she went to sleep sitting next to daddy without me today, The poem i put above made me smile when i first read it, i hope it did you x xx

Thats totally normal, Ava was the same :) I couldnt just leave my housework so I got a sling and she would happily sleep away while I did the housework and got on with things x

thanks girls, this is what i keep telling OH, hes just wishing the baby days away :( and the poem did make me smile *(and make me a little emotional) haha my pregnancy hormones must still be around.
i honestly dont mind that he likes to be held, im mainly concerned about car journies.. he'll just scream and scream so much he goes purple for the whole journey, i cant imagine its good for him and its breaks my heart to hear :nope:

I cant put Kyleigh down either .Sometimes i have to prop her up with a pillow cus she hates being flat down in the bed or crib but have to watch her the entire time and then slowly remove the pillow when she is knocked out sleeping so she doesn't feel that its gone. There were times when she was 3 and 4 weeks old i had to walk around the house with the baby carrier .Yes it was that bad with her . I learned there is no such thing as spoiling a newborn they are just use to being close with us . I find it weird she loves sleeping on her side flat on the couch though. Idk maybe it feel cushioned and different from my bed and her crib because she sleeps through the entire night on that couch just awakes on time for 2 feedings during her night sleep .

Hollie wasn't that bad, she liked to sleep one her own or in between OH and I taking up most of the bed, though now we cant put her down or leave the the room. Just Y/day I passed her to her aunt who she see's once a week and all she did was scream and lean over to me. I love how attached to us she is though, show's she loves us!
