6 days ago I had my baby daughter - she is beautiful!!!
Prior to her birth I was told that at 24 weeks she was going to make an early arrival so steroids were given to help her lungs. Well the weeks passed and my consultant wanted a sweep carried out at 38 weeks & 39 weeks to prevent any issues relating to previous concerns etc. midwife refused to do them as local policy is 40 weeks + only!!! So at 40 weeks +1 I visited the hospital for a blood pressure check (as it was high at my previous check up) where a midwife then carried out a sweep & informed me that I was 2 cms dilated.

On Wednesday afternoon I had an increased amount of discharge/ watery and rang hospital who told me to pop in to be checked out especially as it was very yellow. Here I was toldi was 3cms possibly 3.5cm with waters bulging!!! Was told to go home and rest with a meal & a bath as they would probably be going early hours or the following morning. Well 2 hours later just put the dinner in and they started to go, so had my dinner and at 8.30 was back in the hospital!!! On arrival was examined at being 4 cms. I was then informed that I wouldn't be examined until 1.15am, so at that time being told I was 9cms and had only been on gas and air I was amazed!!! But then the contractions got stronger and what started off as 2 small tiny piles during the last couple of weeks of pregnancy began to bulge!!!! That was where my pressure was!!! Being told to push on contractions knowing that they were getting worse made me start to panic but also baby had started to poo inside me so a forcep decision was made under a local but due to the size of her head this also required a cut!!!

Well 6 days on my piles = about 9 of them hanging from my back passage with my cut/ 2nd deree tear next to them makes sitting down very uncomfortable. But with drinking lots of water and eating the right foods going for a number 2 wasn't that bad (I was worried!!!!) I just have to try and keep my piiles cream away from the stitched up part!!!

So that's my story of my birth- planned a water birth but I was too far gone on 2nd examination. She is my first and at 8lb 11oz with an arrival date of 40 weeks +4 days she was a little tinker as she had planned to stay inside as long as possible!!! Everything that I have gone through during the past 9 months and during the birth has been completely worth it and piles or no piles the whole experience of bringing Someone into this world is amazing!!!

Wishing you all the best & if you have piles don't lt them stop you pushing your baby out - there are plenty of creams and GP guidance available after birth!!

Congratulations! I'm embarrassed for anyone to see my piles as they're already pretty bad. :(

A great remedy for piles is zinc cream several times per day. Also witch hazel on cotton pads and sitz baths. Sitting on an invalid ring (aka donut) will also help.

That sounds painful. X. I hope everything comes right soon. Congratulations on your little girl. :flower:
