She is here at last after trying to make an appearance into this world at just 29 weeks we managed to hold out till 37 weeks exactly and my beautiful princess arrived at 1:55 am weighing 6lbs 13 oz.
On Boxing Day, i had a long bath before starting on clearing up the aftermath of christmas, I was having little niggles since about mid day then noticed that they seemed to be coming quite regularly so at about 3 pm i started to time them. They were coming every 5 minutes but i've been in and out of hospital with threatened labour so decided to ignore it as it would probably go off again. My mum was driving 300 miles to stay with me so started preparing things. When my mum got here it was about 7pm and they weren't getting any closer together but were more painful so i decided to go into the hospital just to get checked at about 10 pm.
They put me on a monitor but as they were only coming every 6-7 minutes the midwife was going to send me home. i explained my history so she decided she'd do an internal. I WAS 8CM DILATED!! the midwife was stunned as i wasn't really in much pain. Whilst labouring i did lord of the rings quizzes and even had a bit of dance at 9 cm dilated. It got to midnight and the midwife decided to break my waters. soon after the pains got more painful but still not any closer together. at about 1:00 i was having to really breathe through them and started to feel a urge to push. I remember feeling the ring of fire as they call it and 2 pushed my babys head was born. she was trying to cry before she was even fully born. finally she came out she is perfect and i have never loved anything so much. I had no pain relief and will definately be doing it again. I did manage to get a 3rd degree tear and needed stitches but all is worth it. I will be uploading photos over the next few days x
