Hey Girlies!

So as the title states - I've had my baby :happydance:

So I went into hospital on Tuesday as I have GD and baby had had a little growth spurt which is meant to be bad for the baby this late - I was 37+5 days.

I was induced on Thursday 6.30pm, I had prostin gel inserted behind my cervix, it was really uncomfortable and hurt! So off I went for a longgg walk and bounce on the ball, 6 hours later I was checked and there was no difference so I had another round of the prostin, again 6 hours later nothing at all... so the specialist came to see me and said they would try another 2 more times - which they did at 6 hour intervals, nothing happened so they told me on Friday evening that I was to have a C-Section in the morning. The gel gave me contractions which felt like period pains but that's all.

Well, 1am on Saturday, I feel a warm trickle of water down my leg which woke me - I thought I'd wee'd myself!! Then I stood up and it poured out - like in the movies and I was in shock at the amount of water! Called the nurse who checked me and said it was definitely my waters breaking - well what else could it have been?!!! My mucus plug and bloody show came out with my waters too, I saw it on the towel on the floor after the shock!!

They told me to go to sleep and they will come and see me in the morning.

Morning came - specialist told me that they were putting me on the syntocinon drip to help me along as I was only 1cm dilated. The contractions were soooooo painful as they there was no break in between, I asked for an epidural and still needed gas and air for the pressure in my back during the contractions - I felt like a huge wimp but I literally couldn't breathe! After 5 hours on the drip I was checked and I was fully dilated so they told me to start pushing - which I did for 2 hours which felt like 10 hours - I was so tired, I was falling asleep while pushing! The baby had decided to turn so the doctor had to come in and turn her head -twice! Uncomfortable!

They decided that I needed the help of forceps to get the baby out as she seemed stuck in the birth canal, so off we went to theatre, they checked me out and inserted the forceps then decided that they wouldn't work before starting and removed them.

So I had to have an emergency c-section, by that time 6.50pm Saturday, I was so tired that I really didn't care and just wanted baby out NOW! My husband was great, he supported me the whole time and told me how great I was doing and all the things I basically needed during the past few days.

7.15pm on Saturday 1st June (at 38+4) my gorgeous baby girl Savannah was born :happydance: and I haven't stopped looking at her since. She was 8lbs 13oz.

It was the most traumatic experience I have ever been through and still cry at day 5 when I think about it. I'm still in pain from the section and find it hard to walk but I would do it all again if it meant my lil madam was here!

I'll answer any questions if you want any advice etc...
