Is going to be a dad for the first time today, he is 43 years old, his misses is 43 years old also. I don't know if he ever had trouble in the past conceiving, but he's never been the kind of relationship to think about children until now. I'm so so so happy for him, but at the same time, I feel like it'll never happen to me now, this is the second nephew of mine to be born this year, and I have a neice on the way in august. All pregnancies were announced a few months after we had started TTC.

Also though, what an AWESOME day for a first time father!! He is going to make a wonderful dad, he is 20 years older than me, and as my parents were in their 40's when I was born, my brother (well, brothers) looked after me and my little sisters, so to me he has always been a second father figure.

Gah, I just don't know how to feel.... excited, happy, upset and then guilty and ashamed for feeling upset.

aw bless him, how wonderful.

hun dont feelguilty its so normal to feel like this. ttc is so hard but its bound to be a bit bitter sweet for you hun.

hugs sweetie

This is such good news! Congrats to your brother!

It makes me feel better when men and women over 40 have babies, it gives a little hope kwim?

Congrats to your brother!

I know exactly how you feel though. Since my cycle began this month (I'm on cd20 now), my best friend, my boyfriends best friend and my cousin have all got BFP and yesterday my sister in law got BFP too. 4 people in 3 weeks, none were ttc they just happened.

I also felt guilty for being upset and a little (ok a LOT) jealous but I think it's only natural. You can feel that way and still be happy for them.
When it's our time and it's meant to happen it'll happen. Hopefully soon for both of us!

awww... its only natural .. and its good to read ur post.. makes me realize i am not the only one who feels this way ...
but i guess there isnt anything we can do .. but to wait for our bundle of joys to come... sending lots of baby dust ur way ...

In terms of people conceiving over 40's... My parents were 40 when they had me, 43 when they had my sister and 46 when they had my youngest sibling, in between the three of us, my mother had 3 miscarriages (one was at 5 months :( ), but we were all born fine.

Thanks ladies. I was full of emotions yesterday (af on her way boooo) i'm over the moon to have a new little nephew (he was born at 11.30 last night :D ) but i just want it to be my turn now...
