It doesn't burn all the time, just when I either overdo it, or move the wrong way. When it does burn, it burns to the point where I am or am almost screaming in pain.

It feels like nerve pain. Could it be? If it's not normal, I'll call my doctor. If it is normal, do you know when it will end?

My son is currently in the NICU. My section was exactly one week ago. I was discharged from the hospital after 48 hours. This is how it went, so you have an idea of my activity level, as I'm not sure if that affects pain.

Friday--C-section
Saturday--in hospital
Sunday--discharged around 7 p.m.
Monday--At hospital visiting son in nicu from 9a.m. til 9p.m.
Tuesday--At hospital visiting son in nicu from 9a.m. til 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday--At hospital visiting son in nicu from 9a.m. til 6:30 p.m.
Thursday--At hospital visiting son in nicu from 9a.m. til 6:30 p.m.
Friday--At hospital visiting son in nicu from 9a.m. til 6:30 p.m.

I end up home and settled by 8 p.m., since the hospital is about an hour away. Nurses keep telling me I need a rest, but I just can't because I need to see him. He should be home in maybe three weeks--longest 6 weeks (possibly two months). Ugh. He will be fine though, thank God.

Anyway, sorry for going on and on. I'm not sure if this pain is normal or if it's b/c I'm doing a lot.

Thanks...lots of hugs:hugs2:

Could it be your scar may be infected? have you noticed any discharge or swelling?.
I am 2 and half weeks post section and it still hurts/burns when I sit in a odd position and when I get out of bed, especially first thing in the morning as my pain meds are out of my system. You are only 1 week post surgery with a stressful situation with your baby in nicu, what kind of pain meds were you discharged with?. You may need some more I know I did, and they were glad to give them me. I would ring your doctor just to answer your questions that is what they are there for. I dont know where you live but im in the UK so we have midwives and are given numbers to call/get visits for first week to make sure everything is okay. If your in USA or elsewhere have you been given a number to ring?.

I had burning with my scar allot, but there was nothing wrong with it. Maybe get it checked out if your concerned, hope you have a speedy recovery x

i had my sectiona lmost 8 weeks ago. initialy it didnt hurt at all, but it was completely numb. the last two weeks or so it burns when i get up after sitting/lying for a long time - my scar is completely healed so its definiately not infected. i just assumed it was nerves but i dont know. im not worried about it though X

I did have pains for weeks after my c-section... but honestly, never to the point where I wanted to scream in pain. Just irritating or would give me a twinge and I'd be like "ouch"- but it never lasted too long and that was in the very beginning as I was tapering off the pain meds. I'll still get a nidge of pain now and again... right in the incesion area, but again, nothing that bad- just uncomfortable for a bit. Still even feels a bit numb to the touch.

I'm sure it can vary a lot per woman though... I bet your just over doing it though hun. Which, is totally understandable... you want to see your baby! I'm so sorry he's not home with you already. BIG HUGS :hugs: -- hope he's home sooner than they think!

Just try to walk and go as slow as you can... take it easy whenever possible. I was for sure up and around more than I should have been that first week or so- but the pain meds helped keep my pain in check. If they aren't working, or you have any concerns- it's best to call your doctor in case. Better safe than sorry. You want to be in tip top shape when your LO comes home...

Best of luck!!!!!
