I had my first FS appointment on Wed this week. I answered a million questions about my regular health and family history and then another million questions about my sexual health. The male infertility specialist looked and my DH SA results and said: You have great sperm! It was funny. So it now sounds like my DH is okay despite what his family doctor said about his morphology level. Apparently it is in the normal range and the FS is not concerned. They are sending me for CD3 blood work and then an ultrasound before CD10 and another one on CD24. If things look normal with those tests then I have to have the HSG done. And after those results a real Feritlity Plan will be established.

I really liked the clinic I went to. The receptionist and nurses were all very friendly and the doctor himself was very knowledgeable, friendly and comforting. The clinic is near my office so hopefully I won't have to take too much time off of work for my appointments. What is also great about the clinic is that they have ultrasound on site and the doctor has a speciality in sonography on top of being an ob/gyn/infertility specialist.

So despite the dim circumstances for needing to see the FS I was very pleased with my visit.

Hi!
I would like to pm you, but I actually don't know how lol, maybe it's more difficult doing it from my phone.... I have my first appt next week in Ontario also. I am freaked out, scared, excited, etc etc. We have been ttc over 2 years and ntnp for...forever I think!
I am over 35. We have kept this extremely private, and have not even told anyone we have been trying, so I'm pretty much suffering I'm silence! If you are comfortable sharing with me (pm or otherwise) what clinic you are at-I have read a couple of negative comments about the one I have been referred to, so I'm on the look out for a back up plan. Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps my anxiety to know what to expect!

Hi my DH and I are going to our first appointment the 13th of this month. My husband hasn't been tested yet but he's still very young and healthy. We have been completely unsuccessful after our misscarriage and D&C in Nov of last year. I don't know what to expect. I had alot of bloodwork done, the tissue from the baby tested, ultrasounds, progesterone levels checked, thyroid, etc and I have been charting for the last three months, not to mention this one now. So I'm hoping we are coming in with enough to have a good head start. WHen's your next appointment and what is the game plan?

Jennifer01- I clicked on your username where it usually gives the option to send a private message but it doesn't have the option for you. Maybe you need to adjust your settings? I would be glad to share some info with you. Where are you in Ontario? I am in Hamilton.

I am so sorry about your m/c :hugs:
My next appointment isn't set yet. I have to wait until I get my next period and then call the clinic on CD1 to set an appointment for an ultrasound before CD10 and on CD 24 and I have to have bloodwork between CD2-4 (preferably CD3). They are checking to make sure all my hormone levels are okay and they are doing the regular prenatal blood screening then too so it doesn't have to be done again once I do get pregnant. The ultrasounds are to monitor the progression of my egg development and to confirm that I did ovulate. Based on those tests results a game plan will be established. I am just praying that my next period doesn't come and I don't need to go through treatments!

Hmmm not sure what's wrong in my settings?? Oh well! I have a referral for a clinic in Kitchener. My gp already did bloodwork (hormones I think) and I have had a pelvic ultrasound, as well my husband has had SA (all fine, apparently). Hamilton would not be too far of a drive for me if this place doesn't work out!
Like you, I would prefer to not have to get to the additional testing stage, but history would suggest that I'm headed there...sorry to sound so negative, it just drives me nuts that something you think should be easy ends up feeling impossible :nope:
