I can't seem to have a lie in anymore as I am awake by 8ish at the weekends with severe pain in my hips and lower back above my hips. Does anyone else have this? Sometimes its nearly impossible for me to turn over in bed, it hurts so much.

yep i second this! i constantly have achey hips and back when im in bed... not good is it :( x

Yah I suffer from this. Some mornings I'm OK, but others it kills. I get the hubs to give my back and hips a quick rub to get them moving lol.

Girls, it could just be pregnancy or it could be SPD - do you hurt when walking at all too? Although SPD is often worse at night.

It doesn't hurt when walking. If I stand in one position for too long my right hip seems to sieze up. Depending on which side I sleep that hip hurts when I wake up in the morning. Once I get going its fine.

I get this too, its like my hip goes to sleep if i am led on it for too long. I really use to love my lay ins dont get them anymore :(

Have spoken to my midwife about the stiffness in the morning's and she seems quite happy with my progression and doesn't think it is SPD, but to keep an eye on it. I only get it in the morning's after waking up and it's only in the hips and doesn't hurt when walking. :)

yer im the same, and the only way for me to stop them hurting is for me to go out for a little walk

im the exact same i was actually knocked sick the other morning the pain was so bad...its eases when im up and about but yeah...i thought id be making the most of my lie-ins at the weekends till Bubs appears...he has other ideas lol x

yeah i get this too, my pelvic bone always hurts too, think its just from how weve been laid for a long period of time xx

Yep, same here! Everytime I wake up, my hips are aching. I use maternity pillow in my bed but if I lay in the wrong position, my hips would hurt! I keep turning to the other side to ease the pain or get out of bed for a bit. Last Saturday, I had to get up at 6:30am cos I couldn't get back into bed with my hips hurting!

Yes, me too! I get this a lot, especially if I have been standing / walking. It's now actually hurting if I am sitting on something hard like a plastic chair as well. It's really painful, nothing helps :-( And mine tends to get worse as the day goes on :-(

I have it in my hips when I sleep. So I constantly turn back and forth in my sleep to try to avoid this.

I was suffering from this a few weeks ago but since sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees (the same as if you've hurt your back) I've felt loads better so would definitely recommend giving it a go.
Lie-ins still ache though but only if I've been awake and just too lazy to get up.

Kim, thats the only thing that helps me too hun... it eases it off loads if i sleep with a pillow between my knees.xxx

i havent had my hips hurting yet hope i dont but my knees kill me i cant seem to lie on my side for long before im turning on to my other because my legs are killing xxx

Hi my midwife says Im showing signs of SPD. I ache in mornings and in particular after Ive done a bout of exercise! It hurts like hell! Midwife has recommended sitting on a birthing/gym ball, resting in the bath, swimming or lastly signing on with a physio! Worst thing is noone around me seems to have had this and noone understands the pain I get in and how difficult it becomes to get around when I do have aches. I would say 4 days out of 7 I have aches but atleast 2 of those days its quite severe. I have noticed swimming does help but its no good if I cant walk to get there!

i've had this for weeks. theres a thing called pelvic girdle pain which I think I have (Sciatica is sometimes wrongly diagnosed as this and I was told I have Sciatica today) google it, theres lots of info and symptom lists.

I get hip pain when i'm sleeping too, it hurts worse on one side, and i have to keep turning over to try and releive it, if it get really bad i have to lie on my back for a bit and this seems to help for some reason, hope it goes away once bubs is here, poor us,lol
