My boy has 120 mls of formula around every 2 and a half hours, sometimes even every 2 hours, does this sound like too much? I've tried the hungry baby formula (sma) and it didnt do a thing for his hunger, I just feel like the formula doesnt satisfy his hunger for long enough. If he has more formula at a feed he will still be hungry 2 and a half hours later.

I can't help but wonder if he would be fuller for longer if I breast fed him, I really wanted to but just didnt produce enough milk, and Domperidone didnt help so he's solely on formula.

Is there anything else I could give him to help or is hungry baby formula the only option for a hungry baby?

Is he about 6 weeks old now? (Terrible at adding up dates)

There is a huge growth spurt sometime around 6-8 weeks, which could be the reason why he is taking on a lot.

120mls is what, 4oz? Is he feeding through the night as well?

Honestly I'd just stick with him for now, chances are he will space things out again, especially if this is a growth spurt.

tbh, thats not a huge amount. Id just carry on  they feed often because they only have tiny tummys. And i think 4oz every 2.5hrs isnt enough to justify needing hungry baby formula. I dont think he is a hungry baby

I have kept my milk log and my LO seems to take from 32 to 40oz in 24 hours! Crazy! He sometimes has 240ml in one sitting.....I know he is bigger than Addison. I haven't tried the hungry baby formula as the brand I use - I think you have to wait till 4 months. I also worry that if I use it now, what else will there be before weaning. My family members keep saying I will have to wean him early as he will be desperate for food. My mum said that when we were little, you were allowed to wean when the baby reached 14lb! My Lo is nearly there!!

Olivia is just about the same as ur little one cookie. She is drinking 4 oz every 3 hrs... we gave her 5 oz lastnight for her last bottle and then just now she drank 4oz really quick and probably could have drank more. Olivia lost in week 3 and then since we put her more on forumal the next week she had went from 6lbs 11oz to 8lbs 2 oz. I'm scared she's gonna eat too much and gain too much weight to quick. We have hungry monkeys!!!

I don't see a problem hun :) Jayden was on anything between 40-70oz (argh) then, also HB milk can take 2 weeks for baby to get used to it, so you probably wouldn't notice the change right away.
xx

Thanks for the replies. It does make you wonder cos on the formula tin it says 5 times a day, so then with him feeding through the day as much as every 2 hours it makes me wonder. Usually he feeds the same through the night, but on the odd occasion he sleeps 4 or 5 hours without a feed, he did it last night, am hoping it becomes more frequent.

Will just carry on as I am then. Thanks.

I have to feed my LO every two hours as that is when she gets hungry. She was taking up to 40oz during a growth spurt but now no more than 30oz-sh ejust wont eat much more than 120mls at one setting.

I am sure you are fine-i have also had these concerns but others on here have said it is all normal:flower:
