Hi ladies!
I live in Canada and it's supposed to be spring here..March 13th we had an awful snow storm during the day....like, road closures...treacherous accidents....awful!! All day! Apparently that night my son thought it'd be a great night to arrive! :s
At 9pm I felt my first "is this it?" Pain. I'd been having them on and off all week so I didn't think much of it because I usually went to bed and woke up fine. I could not get comfortable so at 9:30 I called my mom (she was to come watch my daughter if we went to the hospital) just to give her a heads up. The roads were still SO bad so I wanted her to be prepared. We hung up and she called me back 5 minutes later and said "even if it's nothing, I'm coming out anyways to be safe". Thank god she did! It took her an hour to get to my house and she lives like 25 min max away from me but because of the roads it took forever. At 10 I started seeing the pattern and knew this was it. I stayed home until 11 and then my mom and husband basically harassed me into leaving for the hospital. I was so against it because it hadn't been that long but they kept saying "the weather!" So after arguing with them we left just after 11.
I got to the hospital at 11:45 and was 4cm. Got my epidural and was checked again at 12:30. I was 6cm. I love whatever epidural it was I got. I could move my feet and legs and move around but the contractions were just "numbed"...I was watching my labour video my sister taped and at 1:30 I was video taping them saying "not much longer"....well must have been just after that I asked to be checked because I felt intense pressure and sure enough the dr came straight in...checked me and said I was ready to have the baby! They got set up and after 4 minutes of pushing at 1:49 am little Rowen was born! He was perfect! No tearing and it was seriously the most awesome birth experience I've ever had. I literally could feel him slide out...it was awesome!
DH cut the cord and they slipped him under my gown where we stayed skin to skin for like 30 min...then they took him weighed him, checked him and he was back in my arms. He weighed 7lbs 6oz and he's my world! I now have my gorgeous daughter, beautiful son. My family is complete xoxoxoxoxoxo
