So my little man certainly kept me waiting, 16 days in all. I really really wanted to avoid induction but took it after 14 days of being overdue. I'd already had 2 sweeps which failed to start anything at 40+7 and 40+12.
A little history about this little man is he had parvo and we very nearly lost him but thanks to a amazing team at Kings hospital here's still here
So on 40+14 I went in at 9am for my booked induction, I got the propess at 12.30pm and hoped for the best, a few contractions but then nothing. The propess is left in for 24 hours, after 6 hours nothing was happening so I was allowed home and to return the next day for day 2! That night was very hard, I didn't expect to be returning without STILL not having my baby
Day 2 and 15 days over I went in at 11.30 and got given my own side room which was lovely The ward was crazy busy so I didn't get the prostin till like 2pm. I didn't feel like it was doing much to be honest and lost all hope that Id ever get my baby. I hadn't seen my kids for a 2nd day and I just wanted to be home with them and my baby. I had a really good cry that evening. The DAU was crazy busy and the labour ward was full and a lady was giving birth in the triage room They told me as the labour ward was so busy there might not be anywhere for me to give birth even if I did progress, luckily things died down and more staff came in so they were willing to do another prostin or try and break my waters.
I had several attempts to break my waters but apparently they were so close to babies head it was impossible- That messing around must have done something because at Midnight I stared to get some crazy strong contractions, pretty much on top of each other, I knew something big was happening so I told OH to get me to the labour ward asap!
They were pretty quick in getting me wheelchaired over there but by this time I was loosing it in pain and needed that gas and air!
Got to my room and got my gas and air thankfully After this I can only remember a few things as I was proper out of it and pretty much on the gas constantly as things moved so fast! I had him from 1st proper contraction to having him in my arms in 83 mins. To be honest he would have been born sooner but I was sitting on the edge of the bed and too scared to sit back for him to come out He literally slid out of me in 2 pushes. I was just in shock when he arrived- it was all a big haze. I didnt need any stitches which has been amazing compared to giving birth to my 1st two.
he looks a lot bigger to me than his 8lb 12 weight but hes amazing
Here he is- Baby Connor
