My LO has a white tounge?

Since FF my LO since birth she has always got white stuff on her tounge. My HV said this is normal aslong as its not gritty otherwise its thrush. However its still not gone away. Shes never in any distress with it and is feeding fine. I was just wondering is it off her milk and is there anyway i can get rid of it?

It is completely normal. I think it's just formula residue. Carter had it for a long time.

My baby Addison had it for a while too, but now at 8 weeks he no longer has a white tongue. I was told as long as you can scrape it off with your little finger (not the whole tongue obviously, just a little to see if it comes off) if it doesn't come off it could be thrush.

My hv told me that if its been longer than an hour since they had there last feed, and the tongue is still white, it could well be thrush xxxxxx

thanks i feel a bit awkward about trying to scrape it off with my finger...will try and give it ago and if doesnt come off imguessing it thrush!

Dylan used to have that all the time. If it's not bothing LO then it's ok. At minimum LO would be a bit grumpy if it actually was thrush!

I've only ever seen thrush in a babies mouth once, and that looked almost like ulcers at the back of the mouth, and it was obviously really hurting him.

I think that you're probably alright, Emily has a tiny amount of thrush but the dr said if they're still eating alright it's not even worth treating... x
