My Mum is 38, has womb cancer with EDD 01/10/12..

I wasn't quite sure where to post to be honest so sorry to any moderators who think I've been a complete numpty! :dohh:

I'm worried for the health of my mum & my unborn brother or sister. She's obviously high risk with consultant lead pregnancy. Does anyone have any knowledge about this? She's been told that her cervix isnt diseased so that's one good thing..

My mum had the contraceptive coil taken out when she found out about the cancer so she could get treatment before hysterectomy to get rid of the cancer. Whilst waiting for treatment... little miracle was discovered..

Considering I have my own daughter, I thought I'd have known more but its completely different to a straight forward low-risk pregnancy..

Any information about how pregnancy affects women aged 35+ or pregnancy with cancer would be greatly appriciated..

Thanks xx

I have no experiance or knowledge of this hun but found this for you https://cancerhelp.cancerresearchuk.org/type/cervical-cancer/treatment/cervical-cancer-and-pregnancy. Wishing your mum and her baby all the luck in the world :hugs: x

Ahhhh thank you chick :) I'm trying not to read to much online, its all rather clinical. You ladies tend to be more sensitive to wording.. Lol. xx

The way I understood it is before 3 months they may recommend starting treatment but I think that may carries risks to the baby, after 3 months they won't start treatment and then deliver baby by c-sec when it is safe and start treatment immeditaly. I have heard of women being treated after pregnancy and after agressive treatment they have pulled through. I can't imagine how scary it must be but I am sending positive vibes your mum's way :hugs: x

She's had previous c-sec's before. She had me at 18 vaginally and the other 2 of us were c-sec. I don't think she'd vbac even if she didn't have cancer. It's been a long time since she had a baby, my youngest brother is 14. Lol.

She's just got divorced and been with her fiance for just over a year, I don't really talk to her so it makes things a million times more scary. I don't know how she's keeping herself together. I'd be in pieces.. xx

I have nothing to add but just wanted to express my best wishes for your mom's recovery, and your sibling's arrival!
