Due date 13th July came and went, Had a sweep Monday 15th and a second sweep on Thursday 18th.. Nothing happened...was booked in for induction on Saturday 27th July.

At 4:30am on 21st July 2013 my contractions started out of the blue. Very mild, I just felt tightenings in the bottom of my bump about 5 minutes apart. Rang my partner to come home just Incase (I had a quick first labour and didnt want to risk not making the hospital).
Mum was looking after jack so we gave her the monitor at 5am and left for the hospital.

I got in at the MLU at 5:50am which I'm soo glad about, it was lovely and I was the only person there giving birth. I was never checked how many cms dilated I was but I contracted for a few hours with my tens and walking round my room.
I was offered toast but couldn't eat it.

At about 9am we went to the birthing pool in the orchid room which was lovely, the relief was Instant when I got in the hot water and I thought my contractions had stopped but they soon ramped up again after about 20 minutes. I had about an hour of contractions just sitting in the pool then asked for gas and air when I felt I couldn't take anymore. The midwife suggested going on my knees and hanging over the side which instantly made my body push. This was at about 10: 15am, my body did a few little pushes but then I could feel his head coming, it slipped in and out a few times and with every push I knew exactly where the head was, it was agony and while I was puffing away on gas and air decided to go for it.. Now or never feeling haha. I was surprised how 'with it' I felt through the whole thing.
At this point my waters went in 2 gushes, funny sensation going into the pool, like a really powerful wee! once my waters went the head came straight after, took 5/6 pushes and yes I felt the ring of fire and I poo'd ! Not even bothered about it as I had to push with everything I had. 2 last pushes and high pitched screams which weren't intentional but just came out ! my baby boys head was born followed by his body in the next contraction at 11:08am. I remember having the head out and the midwife asking if I wanted to feel it which my reply was I can feel it haha. Josh had a look and just saw a litte face staring at him. Once I'd Birthed his body he was put between my legs, his cord was loosely round his neck and he was lifted out from the water it was lovely. He had his eyes open and then cried after a few seconds. I sat cuddling him in the pool for a few minutes then josh cut his cord. The water was drained and I was given the injection to deliver my placenta which came quite easily with a few pushes and tugs.

George was given to josh and I clambered out of the pool and walked back to our room. They got me a bed and I just sat there looking at my monkey and he had a long breastfeed for about an hour. He was then weighed, we were really shocked to find out he was 10lb 11oz, the midwife even did it twice to double check incase the scales were wrong haha. He was then passed back to me and I was stitched up, only had a few, the numbing injection was painful.. Youch!
I went and had a shower and we got ready to go, the paediatrician then came and saw us and said because we were In the top 1% centile on weight that we would have to do some testing of blood sugars, heal pricks. We agreed to a 24 hour stay which then turned into 48 hours but came home on Tuesday 23rd July at 10pm.
All in all a lovely experience, a water birth which took just over 6 hours from start to finish.. I'm so lucky to have two great births with my two beautiful sons.
