My Results of Being Sick :(

A few days back I posted about taking antibiotics while pregnant... I was told that amoxcilian and the z-pack are OK.... I went to the Doctor on Wednesday and yesterday... Monday.. the Doc finally called me back with my throat culture results... I HAVE STREP THROAT!!!! ... So I actually started taking the z-pack on Friday... Today was my last dose of medication.. I have to go back to the doc on this Friday for another throat culture to make sure that the infection is gone... I hope it is because i don't want to take anymore meds!!!! This poor little guy doesn't need them! i feel so bad I'm sick!.. I'd rather fight it off on my own then take medication.. especially for being pregnant!!!!! Grrr!! Its so frustrating!!

Oh Dee, that sucks!! But remember, the faster you get over it, the better...so take your meds!!!!

Oh hun I had strep throat twice. Once when I found out I was PG and once at the end. It's ok to take your meds so make sure u take them all and finish them even if you feel better. U don't want it to come back Good luck

You will soon be better, it is much better than being rough for weeks on end with no medication, that would be no good for baby either!

Sorry to hear that! It is so worth it to take the meds tho... For 4 years I suffered through Strep and Tonsillitis. It was awful. It got to the point where I would have them at least once a month, and lasting a week or two at a time. The antibiotics would help when I took them, but then as soon as I went off of them, it was back. So finally my doctor said in September that if I got it again that YEAR, that I would have to have my tonsils out. Well I got it again that MONTH, and was scheduled for surgery a month later. And it sucked because for the whole time leading up to my surgery, my doctor had me on antibiotics so that it didn't come back, get me sick, and then prevent the surgery.

I luckily have not had strep since the tonsils came out... Tho I thought I did before I found out I was pregnant. That was the first of 3 Dr.s visits, before I finally realized all of these crazy symptoms were caused by pregnancy.

Wow you poor thing!! You went through alot!!... I hope everything is back to normal for you.. thanks for the comfort... glad to see I'm not the only one out there!!!

I hope you are better soon. My Dr. just called in a z-pak to the pharm for me tonight. I have a nasty sinus infection. I had to miss work tonight because of it. Being sick while pregnant is NO FUN!

I've been on antibiotics twice during my pregnancy if it makes you feel nay better. The doctor says it's harder to fight off infections while pregnant so make sure you take you pills hun! I hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself. Maybe you need your French vanilla cappuccino
