Yay! I have my baby boy! I Have finally found time to post back on here!
He arrived 20/09/13... Due date was 02/10/13
13&half hour labour from waters breaking!
I woke up at 11:55 with a very warm feeling! Went to the toilet and fluid came out.. Then more..and more..and more! I had to change my pad about 5 times!
I rang the hospital, they said to come in for 6am unless contractions are 4/5 mins apart. I went back to sleep woke up at half 4 and contractions were just starting, I gathered everything up by the front door. We took our daughter to my mums for 5:45 then made our way to hospital!
I was assessed for an hour for baby heartbeat, everything was fine, contractions were every 3 mins lasting a minute long. Then got stronger and stronger... I needed to go up to the delivery suit but they had no beds!!!!!
They were hunting around to try and find a room with a bed for me!! Ended up in a room off of the birth suit giving birth on a mat!!
Was refused the epidural as there was no beds! Even though I asked 3 times!
I had him on just gas and air, was such an amazing experience as I felt everything! Even though it felt like a burning sensation when his head was coming out.
Alfie lee welch born Friday 20th sept at 12:26 weighing 6lb 13oz...No tares or stitches!
We were left in the room just on the mat until half 5/6 because again NO beds on any of the wards!!! So we had to wait and wait! Then waiting for the paediatrician to come and check him so we could go as everything was fine through pregnancy & labour but nope! Had to stay over night as the paediatrician had finished doing checks for the day as by now after waiting it was 8pm! Was discharged at 1pm on Saturday.
He is amazing! Been breastfeeding well! Sometimes formula for a top up. Dropped down to 6lb2oz then 6lb6oz then 6lb12oz now 7lb3oz!!
Can't believe he is 14days old today! It's flown by!

the mat really didn't look very comfy but well done for doing all that on gas and air!
