So despite going into slow labour just over a week ago my son was finally born yesterday morning at 10 days overdue.
Max Henry weighed in at 8lbs 13oz and was born at 8:13am lol.
Waters broke and contractions started immediately at 3:35am on 20th aug. At 9am they stopped. I elected to have the hormone drip 24hrs later as labour hadn't restarted naturally. Sadly I reacted badly and my uterus became hyperstimulated despite being 6cm and on a very low dose.
I went from 6cm with a back to back position and not engaged to holding my son in just 20 minutes. It was truly the most horrific experience of my life but also something that is rather rare so please don't let my story scare any of you first timers.
On the weird plus side he was born arm first so not only did I crown a 36cm head but with the additional circumference of his arm at the same time I passed a 40+cm baby and didn't tear at all!!
We were home just 3hrs post delivery and are besotted as is our 2yr old little girl Daisy who is loving her new role as big sis.
