Hi all, I didn't really post on here much but came on to read what everyone else was saying and these were my favourite posts in the 3rd trimester so wanted to update you all!
At 37 +1 my waters broke suddenly, Friday night! I was eating my dinner and stood up and literally they gushed! I thought oh no whst lovely pregnancy symptom is this that I am now wetting myself lol! My husband looked at me and said why are you wetting yourself go to the toilet it was comical!! I quickly realised then when it didn't stop it was my waters! For those of you interested the only signs that week had been strongish braxton hicks slightly painful but more like toghtenings and not much else!
I phoned the hospital and they advised me to come up and get checked so I got showered (wasn't allowed bath) and went over! Standing in reception my waters had literally soaked right through my jeans and were making a puddle at my feet dramatic moment lol and my contractions had started! They hooked me up to a monitor I was only 1 cm dilated and cervix thick and hard so they sent me home and told me to come back 10am for induction if I wasn't sooner! I went home and the contractions started coming every 3 minutes quite quickly lasting a minute at around 2am they became unbearable so I phoned and went back in! They checked again and said I was 2-3 cm I was disappointed at this as had thought I would be more but they gave me has and air which was a wonderful relief and contacted the delivery suite! I was booked for a water birth so when I arrived the room was lovely and the water was so relaxing I would truly recommend it! The midwife who was delivering was excellent at this point the contractions were c painful one on top of the other but she used an excellent counting technique to get me over them which really worked and helped me stay in control!! At around 5am we all thought I was ready to deliver showed all the signs but unfortunately labour had stalled and I was only 8cm!! This was so disappointing for me and I was absolutely exhausted! I began to ask for the epidural as I literally felt I couldn't go on but the midwife was v reluctant to give it to me! I got out of the pool for a thorough check and we discovered the baby was back to back which had probably stalled the labour and caused the excruciating pain! At this point I begged for morphine the midwife was against it saying it wouldn't really help pain wise just make me sleepier but she eventually gave me it! It didn't do much for the pain but def relaxed me! As labour had slowed the midwife at around 8am suggested the drip ( I wasn't allowed back in the pool because of the morphine) I was reluctant about the drip as I wasn't sure if I could handle the artificial contractions but we started it anyway and she turned it up quite quickly! It was v painful but I coped ok! During the pushing stage I became v sick vomiting everywhere but the pushing stage didn't last long my baby boy was born at 10 o clock, perfect little man no stitches which was wonderful!! He is just perfect and I was up and in the shower within an hour feeling tired but good! I wish you all well with the your births and babies![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
