Name the Bear

I am doing a name the bear competition at our wedding to help raise funds for a neonatal unit.

I was just wondering how I go about doing the competition?

Do I put all the names on a bit of paper and get them to write thier names beside the name they want (paying obviously) or what? I haven't a clue tbh and only have 2 weeks to sort it! X

Yeah, i'd do it how you've said it.
Get a big sheet of paper with the names and they pay £? for the square with the name theyve chosen then write their name next to it.

Then how do I pick the winner?

Put the names in a hat?

Yeh i'd do it that way - it's the only fair way to do it i'd say!

When we had a name the bear competition, we had an A4 page with a grid on it. Each box had a name in it, and people would put their name in the box with the name they choose, but only one person can choose each name, because otherwise how are you going to divide the bear amongst the winners? So obviously you will have to have the same amount of names as you do guests, or even more, in case they want to guess and pay for two or three name choices.

At the end of the night you could pull a teddy name out of a hat, and whoever chose that name will be the winner. If nobody chose it, keep going until you find one that's been picked. If not many people have guessed, you can get someone to remove the names that haven't been chosen from the hat before you draw, otherwise you could be there a while!

Great idea though, if that was done at a wedding, I would definitely take part, and a great cause!
