Names that your OH has suggested that you can't stand...

He desperately wanted a Jr, but I say no. We already have 4 sets of Srs/Jrs in my family and my husband doesn't even have a middle that we could use to call a baby instead.
He's suggested Leonidas (jokes on me there since I love Leander), Sparticus (he held onto this for over a year), and for a girl he's in love with Tempest (it's awesome in theory, but for some reason conjures strippers for me).

So, if any of you are like me and have a partner/husband who is extremely difficult when it comes to agreeing on names, you will have most likely heard some shockers of suggestions.

Some of the names that OH has suggested so far (including last pregnancy) are:
Atwater
Mortimer
Ross
Booker
Jethro (might be to some peoples taste, but reminds me of hillbillies...)
Zelda
Optimus or Optimus Prime (yes, he was serious :dohh:)

What has your OH suggested for names that you cringed about?

Mine suggested Zelda too :dohh:

This thread is hilarious!my oh was the opposite of coming up with interesting names :-/ he reeeeally wanted Jennifer for a girl and stuck to his guns all pregnancy!there is nothing wrong with that name but come on..I grew up with the name Nikita and my sister is Rhianna and we LOVED having different names.we compromised on Mikayla.

To the ninja turtles pp..why not suggest Leonardo, still a ninja turtle but Leo is a gorgeous short name!

 at some of these names, so glad to know my OH isn't the only one. I'm sure they would make comments to the same extent about our name choices, but I'm sure ours are a lot more reasonable.

staralfur - Is your OH a gamer, too? I think that's why mine really likes Zelda.

He's not super into it but he does play sometimes. I have no idea why he was SO insistent on Zelda but I wasn't budging.

Agree with this PP, also Raphael could be a handsome compromise :)

Harrison. Again not a horrible name and I know it's very popular especially here in the UK, I just don't like it. I know he would probably be the second or third in.his class with the name.

He has also thrown Maximus out there...erm no dear we're English!

Caelan was the only name agreed on and now he is saying he doesn't like it. I've told him he's going to have to come up with something pretty good to change my mind....and Harrison is not happening! ;)

My OH has suggested Axel or Paxton for a boy. I didn't even realise they were names  He is really trying to push for Axel if this baby is a boy!

Georgina and Tamara (which sounds like how an Aussie would say 'tomorrow') stuck in my head as he really pushed for them. But his list of horrible names was pretty extensive.

Optimus Prime - THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!:wacko::haha::haha:

My Dh suggested Felicia, and my name is Alicia. LMAO

I hope I'm not offending anyone but when you said Axel for a baby my first thought is when the baby is learning to say their own name, I wonder if it sounds like "a$$hole?" :haha: Because babies can't usually make a clear "x" sound until much later..

DH was so stuck on Cleopatra lol Cleo is one thing, but Cleopatra is way too much

If DD had been a boy, DF was hellbent on the name Simon Slade. Simon isn't really a bad name per se, I just personally don't care for it... But Simon Slade? Ugh. :X

He also really wanted 'Dom' thanks to Fast & Furious... I said no way are we naming our son after a Vin Diesel character. There were a few more that he suggested I can't really remember, but they all reminded me of old men.

He was the one who came up with 'Zoe', though, so not all of his suggestions were awful! Just most of them. ;)

Mine suggetsted Spartacus too, and Heratio and Portous?!??M

Needless to say none of these suggestions made the cut :haha::haha:

this thread is killing me - glad we're not the only ones! I guess thankfully we're not preg yet so there's no countdown to the day of needing a name just yet.

my DH came up with Medgar - the name of a slavery revolutionist. Respect the reason, HATE the name. Do you call him Meddie? Meds? oy. Yet he hates MY names...

PS Optimus Prime sent me into hysterics!

Marius or Derek, after his favourite strongmen 😉

We are 95% sure we're naming him Leo, that's where the Donatello obsession started:wacko::haha:

My husband informed me that our future children will be named Luke and Leia  Ummm.......no. Not bad names on their own, but no thanks!!

:haha: Hollynesss, what if you have boy and girl twins one day? Imagine his excitement
