What do you think of the name Anastasia? My whole family hates it. But my husband and I love it. Then I find out through my daughter that my sister was talking about me and the other name I was going to pick...Sofia. She told my daughter that it's her name and she would be really mad if I used it!! It's the principle. My daughter is 14 and I resent her talking to her about such stupid things. Not to mention she is done with kids. She had her last 2 years ago and it was a girl. She picked a different name. How stupid!! UGH. I don't want the name, just wanted to vent!!

Don't you just love the things some people think are appropriate? lol! I wouldn't read too much into the whole thing, just use the name you love. There really isn't anything she can do about it, and if she makes a big deal out of you using Sofia, then gosh, somebody needs a reality check!

I love both of the names, by the way! I have a cousin Anastasia, and she goes by Stacey. I've seen Ana and Stacia as nicknames, too. I think it's a beautiful name, traditional and elegant.

I also really like Sofia, but I think I prefer Sophia.

If you really want to get on your familys' good side, go with Anastasia Sofia!

I think Anastacia is a lovely name, it doesn't really matter what people think about it aslong as you love that name am sure it will grow on other people. Also i think its silly that if you were to use the name Sofia your sister would be mad, your her family she should be glad to let you have it.

I really like both names, but especially Sofia . I also like Anastacia as it can have so many different shortened versions.

It really p's me off when people lay claims to names, especially when they arent even pregnant! My friend did this to me when I had my third, she said that I couldnt use the name Ruby or Sam under any circumstances as they are going to be her babys names, she hasnt even got fella!! . Not that I would use that name anyway, I like it but its not my thing....

I'm not too keen on Anastasia, but it has some interesting potential for nicknames. It also depends on what your family name is, as it might sound better with some

Sofia is a really cool name, but it is a bit overused atm.

My cousin is a Anastasia but is called Stacey and Stace which she hates, just a warning as with most names things get shortened xx

I love both Anastasia and Sofia. Ignore them, there will always be people who say they dont like it no matter what name you pick.
