Ok jacob doesnt nap in the house, but does when were out :dohh: Now i take him out twice a day so he will nap otherwise by 5pm i have a monster on me hands

But i know a girl who prevents her baby napping and wont let her baby sleep after 3pm etc etc.

But if i go out at say 7pmish and jacob sleeps im not fussed as it never effects how he sleeps at night as long as it aint too long i.e more than an hour :)

So do you prevent naps or just let them happen?? Do you like baba to nap at set times?? or do you let them sleep when they want to?? Do you not let them sleep after a certain time?? if so what do you do about going out- encase baba falls asleep in the car or pushchair??

XxxX

She just naps when ever really - but especially when we're out too.

She needs 2 decent naps a day so if I think she needs it I will put her in her cot with the mobile on and she'll have half an hour or so. I am trying not to let her nap now after 6pm. She's a great sleeper as you know but I'm trying to move her bed time from 10pm ish to 8.30 - 9pm - so far so good! x

elinor has an hr at 10 and then an hr at 2 and then shes in bed for the night at 7pm....usually shes up about 6.30/ 7am the nxt day :)

Ciaran Naps around 12ish ? And thats him till night time , but when i am out he naps alot he must be just bored in his pushchair lol

I let tyler nap in the day when he wants as it never effects his sleep in the night xx

I find Poppy needs a nap around 2 hours after she's got up in the morning, so I put her to bed. We have a little wind down routine which lets her know it's nap time. She has around 40 mins.

She then normally has another half at around 12ish if we are out and about with the pram.

She'll then have another in the afternoon. Sometimes it's a longer one (up to 2 and half hours if I lie down with her!) but normally another 40 mins or so, again, I'll normally put her in her cot unless we are out and she'll sleep in the pram/car. I find she's more rested if she's had her nap in her cot rather than outdoors.

I tend not to let her nap after around 5.15 (she goes to bed at 7) so I try and engineer her other naps so that she won't need one after that time. Doesn't always work though :dohh:

If she hasn't had one after 2.30, bedtime is more difficult and she'll cry on the run up to it and while we're getting her ready for bed.

Evie gets up at 7 or 7:30 and is always ready for a nap after 1.5 - 2 hours. I put her back in her cot and she will have 45 mins or (hopefully) more. She will then probably get in a few more naps of 1 - 2 hours each for the rest of the day and goes to bed at about 7:30pm and sleeps through. I've found it doesn't make any difference if she naps more during the day (she had a total of 5 hours on saturday!) as she is always tired at bedtime. If she hasn't had enough naptime though she will be exhausted by bedtime and will struggle to finish her bottle. x

I let Niamh nap whenever she wants. I pick up on her cues quite easily now, and am led by her really.

katie doesnt nap!! she used to fall asleep dead easy in the car or the pram, but now she's too nosy!

she'll fall asleep on my boob in the afternoon, but if i move i'm buggered!

she gets up between 6 and 7 and i put her back down between 6.30 and 7.30 in the eve! bloody hard work!

Lola does not nap!

So whenever a miracle happens I just go with it.

Rihanna naps 3 times a day and as kinda set the times herself / can see the signs (rubbing eyes and tired cry), so I lay her on the sofa at the side of me or on my bed at the moment.

Her routine is:

Awake on a morning between 6 & 7am

Nap 9.30 -10.00/30

Nap 14.30 - 15.30

Nap 17.00-17.30

then sparko by 19.00/19.30 latest and sleeps through

When we are out she does sleep more but like you said Ema it doesnt affect how she sleeps at the night.

The contended baby sleep guide tells u to not let a baby sleep after 3pm but i cant keep her awake else she is super crabby then won't settle.

xx

Glad im not the only one that doesnt care when he naps  thats if he does! XxX

I just let Patrick sleep when he wants, some days it seems hes asleep all the day, other times he seems to be awake loads. If we are somewhere where there is loads going on though he wont sleep and oh my god.....ive had some awful days because of that!!!

Coltons can get alittle confusing, but I tend to keep up with them well
It all depends on the day, what we are doing etc.

If it's a normal day, he will usually nap around 12-2.
If it's a going into town kinda day (park, pay bills, my mothers) and he misses his nap, he can sleep 5-7pm and still go to bed at 9:30 because he is so exausted.
If it's a going out of town day then he will sleep for an hour in the car on the way there, and then an hour on the way back home.

Either way, he usually gets atleast two hours of nap. :D
The only times I prevent naps are on stay home days, because he doesn't wear himself out like if we go out, so after 3-4 he wont get any naps whatsoever. And if he isn't napping by 1pm I will usually just stick him in his crib.
