I started using natal hypnotherapy book and cds at around 20 weeks pregnant. After a few weeks I felt so relaxed and confident that we decided to plan a home birth. When the day came I used the techniques to stay calm and relaxed and needed no drugs. When the contractions were coming fast I felt like I was getting a good long rest in between total time distortion! I am so glad I discovered this and want to shout from the rooftops to anyone who is pregnant to give this a go! It helped to make my labour a wonderful experience!

Hehe - spread the word! It really is fantastic, isn't it! If you are able to, why don't you write your birth story down? There are a few of us on here that used NH and had fantastic experiences, but there is still a huge way to go until we can get the message out to everyone so that women can be free of the fear that surrounds labour and birth :)

How often did you listen to the cd? I've started listening but finding it difficult to listen every day. Also did you use any CDs/music during labour itself?

I listened every day - I tended to listen during my work lunch hour. I didn't set aside anymore time than the length of the track though.

Once in labour I didn't listen to anything. I did have a copy of the relaxing birth music, but in the end it was never put on. It just never kind of crossed my mind that it was available to me, and I never felt I needed it. I've used it loads since though, so if youre debating getting it, I would!

I've just bought the CDs and waiting for them to arrive. Can't wait to start listening to them.
I haven't bought the book yet was it worth it as well?
Thanks for the reviews.

Personally, I thought the book was brill. It contains a wealth of other practical things you can do to help you during labour and birth. It also goes a long way to explaining why birth has become this "thing of nightmares" when it doesn't need to be.

It has lots of advice for your birth partner too. At the end of the day, they have a role to play to help keep you in your birthing frame of mind.

I've just received my CD's can't wait to use them heard so many good things about them
