I have been LTTTC for a while.. And did fertility treatments for over a year. My only issue is Hypothyroidism. I was wondering if any of you ladies are taking a natural approach or have taken one.

I went to our local organic store yesterday. the herbalist was very helpful. She showed me two things i should get. Red raspberry leaves (for a tea) and this herbal blend called Fertility Blend SP-1 (capsules). Im going to try them out on my next cycle. Im going to go back and see if i can get the ingrdients for The Fertility Tea. I found on a very cool and trusted website. I was hoping to be able to drink the teas and take the capsules together, we will see.

Good luck ladies. Any stories would be appreciated! :dust:

Hi, I'm really interested to hear any replies to this also.

I am taking the natural approach to try and unblock my tubes. Giving my self a year. Radiant wonder is an excellent website. It all about opening reproductive channels and getting your uterus and ovaries stronger. I am taking a few things from there, cinnamon poria and free flow. And an enzyme to try and dissolve the scar tissue in my tubes. I been doing it a month and my period this cycle was the best its been in years. 5 days and not 7, not heavy at all, and no queasiness. God gave us everything we need in nature, i truly believe that. Fertility treatments are good, I'm not knocking it at all. You just have to take so many drugs and that worries me.

You will probably think this is so stupid but here it goes. I have been married 2 years and was ttc right from the first month. I got bfn's every month until last July when I stopped testing. I had just gotten my first job after college and decided to take a couple years off of trying. Now I never went to a doctor for this at all so I am not sure why it took us so long to conceive but once I stopped trying to get pregnant in July I went in for a birth control prescription. I started my last af August 2012 and for some odd reason forgot to start my bc. I had some spotting sept and assumed it was af. Same thing happened in oct and I again assumed it was af. After I got out of the shower for work one day I noticed dark veins running down my chest but ignored it. All the bfn's had really gotten me down so I was convinced I could not get pregnant. I assumed I would have to go through ivf to get pregnant later on in life. Anyway one day I woke up feeling sick and realized hey I haven't had a real af in months. I had some left over ok from when trying to get pregnant so I wanted to check if I was ovulating. I took the test and it immediately turned purple. I thought this was odd as I had never seen it get that dark so I looked online and read they could also be used as pt. I ran to my room and grabbed my remaining pregnancy tests and they all turned immediately. It turned out I was already 2 months gone. I have no idea what was different the month I got pregnant other than me deciding I did not want kids for another few years. That's why I think there is some truth to relaxing and letting things happen on their own schedule. My pregnancy couldn't have come at a worse time. I have no idea why I didn get pregnant the first 18 months of trying. I know some people have medical reasons for not being able to conceive. But for some of us it really is just about relaxing and letting things happen.

Making Babies is a book I found for natural approaches. And false unicorn root is supposed to be good

It feels like forever ago that I was TTC my son but he's only 6 months now and it took 3.5 years to finally fall pregnant with him. I tried raspberry leaf tea but I think you are only supposed to take it pre-ovulation as it can cause uterine contractions - I think. I could be wrong. I didn't really try anything else as I think the problem was moreso with my husband and it didn't work for me. But I hope it works for you x

There are mixed things on red raspberry leaf
My herbalist said yo drink it every day. Until I become pregnant. But only one cup a day

Jessie21, are you trying acupuncture as well as herbs? I am still TTC so far but acupuncture seems to have changed my cycles (longer, more intense periods). And it has worked for friends so I think there's definitely something to it.
Thanks for starting this convo on natural options. I too am a bit worried about taking drugs. Particularly since I have no diagnosis. (Fertility clinic wants to put me on Clomid though my infertility is unexplained.)
I wish you all the best.

I have thought about trying acupuncture. But have not yet. I downloaded a book called making. Babies. In it it gives all kinds of advice for every infertility issue. Most of them anyways. And in it said for my condition and many others to try false unicorn root. I will read the unexplained section for u.

The Making Babies book is wonderful! I've also heard of tons of success stories from acupuncture. I tried it for 8 months. I didn't get a bfp, but I did experience some very positive changes from it so I am glad I tried it. Next stop for me is laparoscopy for removal of cysts and to check for endo. After I get that out of the way I may try acupuncture again.

Also, it may be beneficial to combine natural remedies with fertility treatments and testing. This may be helpful especially for thyroid issues.

Im trying to stay away from anymore fertiltiy treatments. I did them for over a year with no luck. So I wanted to try natural and stress free approaches.

*Update* i did research on falseunicorn root and id rather not try it. Its pretty rough sounding.

But i did find a recipe for fertility tea. So im going to ask my doctor about that.

Hey Jessie. We are both in Missouri. Awesome. I have fought with my thyroid for years. Do you take a RX for it. I take Synthroid. I cut a page out of a Woman's World magazine that listed vitamins to take for hypothyroid and made sure I had all of them. The iodine was hard to find, but I found a product that is kelp. It has 150mcg of iodine. When I asked for iodine at the pharmacy, they looked at me like I was nuts. I found the kelp product at a health food store.

I take synthroid and the herbal product I take has kelp in it. Good luck to u.
