Well, is it?
Tips, experiences, advice please.
Can i just deny everything?
Unless something crazy wrong happens, obviously.

I can't see why not. The medical staff aren't going to force you to take drugs if you don't want to, surely? You don't HAVE to be induced if you go over - you've got the right to refuse - certainly in the UK you can. I don't know whether it'd be different if you had an insurance company paying. Where do you live?

I'm in japan, going to give birth in a military hospital. :(
They go by U.S. laws.

Yes, it is very possible. You just need to ensure that your doctor, your nurses, and your birthing partner understand your desires, and what you want, so they can help advocate for you.

I had a natural birth with dd2 in hospital. No pain relief other than my own hypnotherapy "tool" and not much MW attention either.
Write out a birth plan covering the aspects that are important to you, and have a look at what your hospital supplies (birthing ball? Bean bags? things like that to keep active?)

exactly what I was going to say :) I had a completely natural birth with ds2 in a hospital. I waited till the last minute to go in and actually went straight to the delivery room.

it is possible just be sure of what you want and if you can have someone else there that can advocate for your wishes

yes completely possible. i did it. i had no IV, no medication, no epi, not even a tylenol.

please be aware of the risks involved with a natural birth, things like not having an IV line put in could lead to serious problems if theres an emergency and they waste valuable time trying to get a line in.

if your happy with the risks then make a list of the brith plan you want and go over it with the hospital staff when you arrive there, make sure you have additional copies of your birth plan to give to every nurse that sees you (they may change as their shifts end).

be firm and stand your ground

i have a friend who has had two natural births in US military hospitals - certainly possible!! :)

Yes its more than possible. I had planned a natural birth with DS but he was a little stuck and I couldn't get him out so needed a bit of medical intervention there but with DD we got to the hospital an hour later she was born and 2 hours after we were in the car going home.

Definitely possible! I had natural in hospital, just water and gas and air.

The best help is to leave it as long as possible before going into hospital, and walk walk walk. By the time I got there I was 5 - 6 cm and so they didnt need to use any interventions. They said it was because I had walked and rocked for hours before I came in.

Just a thought xx

I delivered my 4th in a hospital. The only reason it wouldn't be considered "natural" is b/c I had an IV. I had a choice and I decided to get it, in case something were to go wrong, then they could quickly take care of the situation.

It's absolutely possible  It's your choice, after all x

Did you just have the port, or did you have the IV fluids?
I will want this also so they're not spending 13 hours trying to find a vein. :dohh:

Completely possible my dear, I've done it :flower:

Make sure to practice your breathing techniques, have an open mind, and above all, do not panic!

I used some gas & air to take the edge off, but I'm not sure they supply g&a in USA/Japanese hospitals.

My MW tried to talk me into an epidural cause I was in such severe pain, but I stood my ground and I got my way.

Our bodies are made for things like this, have a positive attitude and you can definitely do it

Of course! I had my son naturally in a hospital, they offered me gas and air but i didn't want any.
