Hi guys....
can someone help me....

I got my natural lh surge on Monday....I was told to take my trigger(ovidrel) on tuesday , which I did in the pm. My re said to have sex t:-) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday....but to start my progesterone suppositories on Wednesday....I am concerned this didn't give me enough time to ovulate before the progesterone was started last night. Can anyone tell me if this is normal protocol?

Thanks :-)

I just saw your note over on Femara Friends. I am no expert since this is only my second medicated cycle (and I did not ovulate on the first so didn't get this far) but as I understood it they would not have given me a trigger shot if I had a natural LH surge. Since I didn't and an ultrasound showed mature follicles they did give me one and scheduled me for an IUI ca. 36 hours later. Then I started progesterone the night after my IUI which was 2 days after my trigger shot (I guess really 2.5 days since I had the trigger at 8 AM Thursday and started prog Saturday night).

I'm curious why they would give you a trigger if you had a natural surge? That might be a good question to ask. Perhaps it helps in another way, like to ripen your egg more before it releases or something.

Good luck and I hope you don't stress too much! I think that since it was 2 days after your surge that you started the meds there is a good chance you had already ovulated.

Thanks beanie, they suspect that I have weak ovulation as I ovulate on my own but my p4 numbers were low. So her explanation was that even though I have my own lh surge she said it would only help things along and support my ovulation. Like I said I am just worried I started the program to early. They did answer my email to my re and she said she was confident that I ovulated early yesterday.

That's good to know re the weak ovulation. I also have had that in the past with a low P4 number 7 days past ovulation. I am glad I did the trigger this time b/c I think it helped a lot with the timing, and if it makes a stronger ovulation too all the better. I'll know in a week!

good luck beanie....I hope we both get our bfps in two weeks.
