I am 7 wks pregnant today and started bleeding this morning. It was quite heavy to start with like a heavy period but has now tailed off and i've had no pain or clots. Just feel a bit icky like i'm on my period.

I am sorry to post in here. I will post on the mc section too but

1) wanted reassurance if anyone's had this and then everything's gone ok? and

2) if I am due to mc, what can I expect? I had a missed miscarriage in November but my body never spontaneously miscarried so I opted for an ERPC. Basically as the bleeding's tailed off can I expect it to stop and start for a while, the get the cramps and clots in the next day or two or should it be getting progressively worse from now?

I had an early reassurance scan booked for Thurs and the EPU today said they'd prefer me to wait til then to go in as we should know more by then as i'll either mc before Thurs or bleeding with stay away and all will be fine.

Thanks for your advice in advance girls.

UPDATE

We have a baby...and a heartbeat!!! Can't believe it, still in major shock! Its crazy how I could have bled as much as I did Mon and all be ok, but apparently little bubs is a little fighter and was unaffected! I have been put forward 3 days too so now 7w 6d. Am on :cloud9:, never thought i'd ever feel this elation again after everything we've been through, was so sure it was happening to us all over again! Especially when we had the same sonographer as with our mc, it was like deja vu!!

Thanks to all you girls for your thoughts and prayers and kind words, you really got me through.

Will post a pic on a seperate thread.

I cant say I have had that myself, I had spotting for a good few weeks though. however, I have seen LOADS of threads in the last month or two about girls who have had big bleeds in first tri but all has been ok.

When i had my miscarriage (was about 6.5 weeks along) i started bleeding light pink on a friday, it was never enough to soak a sanitary pad or anything but just when i wiped... went thru that all weekend and on monday when i had gotten up i passed bigger clots and then what i would assume was fetal tissue... so mine was a very quick process... i had went in for lab work on that saturday for bleeding (dr said cervix was closed) and my HCG was 752 and went again in on monday for repeat lab work and my HCG was down to 48.. so i knew what had happened... but it was reassuring that my body could do it by itself... i bled slightly for the next couple days and that was it...

hey mate,

just want to give you a big :hugs: right now.

I had a natural miscarriage.

I started spotting dark brown when wiped on the saturday. it was on off until Tuesday. then in the evening about 5.30pm i felt a drip and it was bright red blood. from then on i was filling pads. by 10pm i was passing big clots and through all the blur i also think i passed the sac. i didnt have any pain, just felt like i was having a very heavy period.

I then bled like a period for the next few days. i think i stopped a week after my first bleed.

really hope this doesnt happen to you hun, but thought i would share my story with you. :hugs: thinking about you. xxx

Hun, keeping everything crossed for you.

I mc at 17w last year and bled on and off really heavy from 10 weeks.

This time from 5 weeks I started bleeding and it carried on to 18 weeks. I had lost a twin but I have one perfectly healthy little bubs kicking away at 27+ weeks.

My consultant told me from the beginning that bleeding is a lot more common in early pregnancy than we realise and it doesn't always mean the worst.

My bleeding would normally be very heavy and last for mainly 1-2 days and sometimes 5 days, almost like a light period after the first heavy bleed.

I don't know what to say hun, I just hope it doesn't end as a loss for you, just wanted you to know that I have had a good outcome after bleeding and hope the same for you x

hello. When i miscarried i was about 7 weeks. Started as brown blood and only on wiping. This lasted 7 days . Then it went pink to red and i started toi pass these really tiny clots. I was seen a few times but had to wait for scan. Then i had a red loss and had a few small cramps. This was the 1st pain i had. Car broke down so i made my way to a and e on the bus. On the bus i then had these spaisim pains that traveled down wards and a sharp pain in my cervix. It was uncomfy but i was ok. When i got to hospital i went to the toilet and i passed 4 large clots. Was seen and then had to wait 2 days for miscarriage to be confirmed.

However this pregnancy i had bled pink brown and red all by 8 weeks. I never had clots or cramps. When i bled red i lost a lot. My baby was fine. I had to wait 5 days for a scan as well. was horrible. But totally worth it when i saw her little heartbeating.

I dont want to give you hope hun but no that its may not be over

Thanks so much to all you girls for sharing your stories with me, its really helping. So sorry for your losses, but pleased to hear some of you had good outcomes where bleeding was concerned. The bleeding has tailed off now completely but I know i'm still not out of the woods, I guess the next few days will give us more of an idea. Just hope we get to Thurs and all is ok, but OH has told me off for having hope as we had too much of that between scans last time, to then have it all dashed at 9 wks when the mc was confirmed. I think its the only thing that will get me through to Thurs though so am gonna reserve a little bit of hope, in secret, place it under my pillow and pray for a good outcome Thurs.

Will update you all soon. Thanks again for your support.

Oh Hun :hugs:

I had a natural mc in June and my experience was exactly the same as wannabamummy's. Over a few days, starting fairly light and no pain.

I will be keeping everything crossed that it doesn't happen to you. It's so frustrating to be kept waiting, yet you're also aware that there is nothing they can do.

I also had some spotting in this pregnancy at around the same gestation as my mc and have gone on to be ok.

Thinking of you. :hugs:
