Hi all im new to this group and im sorry if i have put this in the wrong place so please feel free to move it if you want....
ok long story but i will make it quick,i have 2 children aged 16 and 10 i am now 23 weeks pregnant with this child i had 2 horrendus labours and births due to the size of the babys i have, first was 9lb second was 10lb( i am not diabetic) the labours where that bad i did not want another child ever i begged for a c section after my first child but they wouldnt allow it...now i have begged again and they are giving me growth scans every 6 weeks to check the babys size and have promised me that this time if it is going to be big again eg 11lb+ i can have a elected c section :happydance:....now ladies does anybody have the same experience as me as in had natural babys first then elected c section,do you think c sections are more or less painfull than labour truthfully?how long do think i will be in hospital for? i had more questions but my mind has gone blank again(preg brain lol)
thanks for taking the time to read this

I don't have a natural birth to compare to, mine was just elective for no reason, but judging by the fact I never screamed my head off like women seem to during natural labor, I'd say it's a lot less painful.
I was in the hospital for a total of 48 hours and didn't find it overly painful. If there is pain you just stop what you're doing and the pain stops :)

Im with Liesje, i did not have hours of horrendous labour nor did I tear my vagina, need an episiotomy or have forceps to take baby out my wee girl had a perfect shaped head and was lifted out of me very gently, so it was much less stressful on her. given your experiences and your babies size I would think you would find an elective pretty good over all

My son was born via a completely un-medicated, vaginal birth. My daughter was born via crash c-section. For me, over all, the vaginal birth recovery was easier to get back to day to day life but I had pain for almost 8 months after. The csection was much more painful initially but I healed faster overall.

I was in the hospital for 3 days post csection, but after my vaginal birth I was discharged the next day. I think it is honestly different for everyone. Especially when it comes to vaginal birth recovery - depends on if you tore, how severe the tearing was etc. Good luck! :flower:

I have had 3 natural births but the hospital regestrar suggested I might have a c sec this time due to SPD and wanting to be steralised plus I have big babies. My first natural was a preemie at 30+2 bearly felt anything but he was very small. 2nd was induced at term as he was measuring over 12lb turned out to be 10lb 7 but still flipping painful but recovery was quick. 3rd was induced at 38 weeks due to spd and size of baby (no not diabetic during any pregnancy she was 8lb 3 and got stuck in pelvis) Now I am facing a c sec and I really dont know if I could cope with the recovery. With all my naturals I was pretty much back to normal within 2-3 weeks but I am desparate to know recovery rates for a c sec and how people with other small children coped
