NBC cutting the 7/7 routine out of Opening Ceremony

Did anyone else hear about this? I literally feel so offended by it - they replaced the segment with a Michael Phelps interview

That would be right up there with us doing an interview with David Beckham over a memorial to 9/11!!
The 7/7 bombings are a big part of our modern history, and definitely a part of our Olympic bid/games history.
Insensitive to the max!

if it was done live hopefully it was just a cock up, they woudnt have known what was coming up.

I know it was on a tape delay so that they could edit it, I hope they didn't know though. Don't see why they would cut away from the ceremony for an interview anyway though - seemed inappropriate.
