Interesting link below! A lot of women have felt fairly confident that they had pre-implantation pregnancy symptoms. The widely held belief, however, is that there is no way for the body to know that it's pregnant until the blasto has hatched and begun to implant, which can't happen earlier than 6 DPO for an intrauterine pregnancy.
This study suggests that conception cycles actually may have an earlier progesterone rise, and higher estrogen and progesterone levels, mid-cycle, ie in the time frame immediately surrounding ovulation, as compared to non-conception cycles. Of course it could just be that higher progesterone and estrogen concentrations lead to a better chance of conception because they indicate cycle health, but either way it's interesting that there might be an indication pre-implantation that a woman might be pregnant!
