Every year i do the same. I have a fab list of gifts for my 10 year old and 5 year old girls, i buy all the presents and store them at home. Then my parents and grandparents ask if i have a list they can choose gifts from for the girls and they go for the best gifts :-(

I don't mind if they pick one or two of the best but my parents have literally picked the main gift i had for my 10 year old, which is an Instax camera, they've also taken the accessory set as there's no point me giving that to DD without the camera first.

So that's my big main present gone. My 5 year old has a new bike and i don't want my 10 year old to not have a main present.

I know i should say no but i can't now, complicated family dynamics, don't ask

Can anyone give me an idea for a main present for my 10 year old? She's in to gaming, hates reading, has an ipad, phone etc

Oh and we don't have much space as we're living in a static home on our land while we build our house, which wont be ready until the end of Spring so i can't give anything for her new room either :(

I'm no help as I don't know anything about girls, but in future I would give them a separate list of accessory type bits or smaller items rather than allowing them to choose from the list of things you're already getting. I have 2 separate wishlists on amazon for the boys, one that I buy from and one that I share the link to with anyone who asks for ideas. It isn't fair of them to pick the best bits, and its an uncomfortable position for you to be in having to say "no I wanted to give them that" so its easier if you sort of guide them to the smaller bits by simply not including the bigger/better stuff in the list.

I have 9yo and 5yo DD's, both into gaming.

Can you put a lump sum of money in a box, in a box, in a box? So there is something big to open?
Segway/hoverboard?
New game?
New TV?
Headphones/pods?

My family always ask me for ideas, luckily. Or they give money in a card.

I’m struggling with my nearly 8 year old . Loads of presents for my 5 and 1 year old .

I gave all my ideas to my parents in case they had to shield again and left myself short !!

Don’t think any of mine are getting a main prensent this year just loads of gifts . They have everything they are into TVs , iPads etc .

Sorry no ideas. I have 8 and 6 and no main gift ideas apart from a joint slushy machine (although not keen on reviews) x
