Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this site and this is my first time posting. I had two MCs in the last two years. Both were around week 6. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19 (I'm 35 now) and was on birth control for many years. I haven't had trouble getting pregnant. The first time was a surprise (not trying, not preventing), and the second pregnancy we conceived after 1 month of trying.
I recently had a transvaginal ultrasound and the Dr. said my ovaries are still consistent with a PCOS diagnosis.
Now I'm not sure what my next step should be. My regular doctor says miscarriage is very common and my miscarriages are most likely not related to PCOS. But I'm not convinced. My husband and I want to start trying again but I'm afraid to start without having bloodwork done to figure out if hormone levels/insulin resistance could be the cause of my MCs. My periods are irregular, some 30 day cycles, some 35, some 40. The other problem is that we don't have insurance anymore. I'm researching trying to find plans that we can afford and all the information out there is dizzying.
So my question is, what questions should I ask my future gyn about PCOS? What can I be doing in the meantime to help my body balance itself?
Can a gyn help with my PCOS fertility issues or do I need to go to a fertility
specialist?
Ay help and advice you could give would be so greatly appreciated. I'm feeling so overwhelmed. Help please?
Thank you so much.
