need advice after early scan?

hi ladies, have only posted on here once before so hope u all dont mind be asking for abit of advice..lol. well, iv just found im pregnant and had it confirmed at doctors. i had an early mc in may so the doctor said it was best to go to epu first and go from there. well, i went for the scan this morning and they could see a little sac but she couldnt get a very good look, so she did an internal ultrasound, which showed a small fluid filled sac, and that was it. they asked when my lmp was, which was 16th june,and they said things didnt add up because going by that i would be about 9 weeks, but the scan doesnt show this. but when i said i only got a positive test a week ago when second missed period was due they said that then makes more sense with the scan results and looks like iv not long conceived , so im only about 5 weeks if that makes sense. so dont know what happened to my period in july? anyway, they have taken bloods to check hcg and progesterone levels, and im back again thursday to take more and that way they can have a better idea of whether things are progressing. they said that either everything is going well, and im just very early so not much more on scan, which they think is the case. or the pregnancy isnt going well and has failed and stopped growing, or could be ectopic and have got a "fake sac" thats developed but she doesnt think so. im just in limbo at the moment and can help but think the worst. iv got a 3 year old daughter and had no problems, so im finding this hard at the moment.sorry for rambling, i just need someone to talk to and any help would be much appreciated thanks x

You may just have skipped a cycle, and then got pregnant when you ovulated during the next cycle. There really isn't anything you can do except wait and see. Hopefully you see more on your next ultrasound. I had an scan at 5w 4d because of bleeding and we only saw a gestational sac and a small yolk sac, I went back at 7w 4d for a repeat scan and we saw a fetal pole with a strong heatbeat, so it could just be that you are too early.
