We found out we are having a girl, which we never expected as no girls have been born in my husband's family for 7 generations. So we are totally unprepared to name a girl. :haha:

We had originally liked the name Ruby but that was before we actually knew we were having a girl. Now it just doesn't sound right.

We have decided on the middle name to be Lilly.
Our last name is one syllable and begins with H.

We have two other children both boys and they have unique but easy names.

Our top name right now is Shiloh but we are unsure of it... honest opinions of Shiloh Lilly and any new ideas welcome please!

We are calling our little girl Tierney (Tia for short).
Other names that are nice :
Lily-Beth
Betsy
Scarlett
Lola
Amelie

Xxx

Honestly when I hear Shiloh I think about that book about the dog. But that's just me. If you guys love it, then use it!

We're namimg our little girl Laken (Lay-kin).

Reminds me of the movie too.
How about
Mila
Xanthe
Kira
Florence
Shannon
Seren
Nica
Safa
Zara
Thalia
Thea

7 generations! Wow! Conrats!!

The name Aaliyah first comes to mind! Which means: The Highest; Most exalted one. I'm sure she will be the "queen" amongst so many boys!

Reyna/Raina/Rayna also comes to mind bc it means "queen"!

I love the name Shiloh too! I think Shiloh Lilly sounds very pretty!

My name is Shilo and I know lots of people say they think about the dog but I don't think it's an issue. You're only going to hear that from people who grew up with those movies/books. Her peers will likely not make that association. I always get compliments on my name.

when I hear Shiloh I think Shiloh Pitt (poor kid... switch the intials = Piloh Shitt)

their are tonnes of unique names, what are your sons names?

how about:

Ophelia
Seraphina
Athena
Alma
Dorathea
Maybellina

My boy's names are Jaron (pronounced like Aaron with a J sound at the beginning.) And our other guy is Ezra.
I don't really like old fashioned names. I know its really popular right now to go back to grandparents generations names but it doesn't feel right. I think maybe that's why Ruby has fallen through for us.

What you ladies have said about Shiloh is my hesitation too... the dog and Shiloh Pitt but I am on the fence because those are somewhat old references at this point (I know Shiloh Pitt is only around 6 or so) but by the time my daughter's in school people wont associate the name. ? I just don't know... I did not think this would be so hard to find something I loved.

I didn't associate the name Shiloh with a dog or Shiloh Pitt, I think it sounds pretty unique and a nice name

Well I don't pay attention to celebrities so I didn't even know there wasva Shiloh Pitt. And maybe the don't read that book in school because its so old. Like I said, if you love it, use it!

To be honest, I did think of the dog as well :x but I think that is our generation as a lot of us grew up with that movie, and your child's generation, most likely no one will make the connection. Not like all those Elsa's and if there are any, kids named after Game of Thrones characters ;) Setting aside the Pitt's and the movie, I think it's a cute name

I do have a few unique names I wouldn't mind sharing though :flower:

Meadow
Azalea
Odessa
Arden
Larken
Hollis
Juniper
Celia
Aisling
Emmeline
Clover
Corra
Avery
Finlay
Elora
Teagan
Brynn
Kinsley
Reagan
Primrose
Rhea
Imogen
Iris
Rue
Rowan
