We found out this summer that we are having twins.
My husband, very big on meanings of names and names that are meaningful to him, came up with two names for our twin boys that are close to his heart.
My husband is and has been, since he was a child, into Batman.
Our older daughter's name is a batman character and everyone in our family loved her name when we told them.
However, for the twins, we've had nothing but negative feedback from our parents on the names - so we are now second-guessing the names based on the feedback we've gotten from our sixty-something parents. It's not that we don't respect their opinions, but they are considerably older than our generation, and they like names like Michael, Daniel, etc. and nothing out of the ordinary. Now we're wondering - are we "out there" or are our parents "out of touch" with today's namingg conventions.
The names are:
Romero and Napier (after Cesear Romero who played the Joker in the old Batman series) and Jack Napier (from the Batman movie of the eighties.)
Looking for opinions that are honest - are our older parents right that the names are too strange, or are they simply names that mean something to us and not any more obscure than other names that are currently out there today?
All opinions welcome, this will help us figure out what to do.
