Prior to starting IUI this month I had an HSG test done, DH had a semen analysis done. After several months of timed intercourse we inquired as to whether this would be a good time to start IUI and they said yes. So not a lot for me to be done before we started.

Thanks for your reply,we are almost at that stage,i've just had a hsg and my hubby's got his semen analysis in 3 weeks,so i think iui will be next.Did they do blood tests etc?x

i had to go for several blood tests they test for stuff like hiv and hepatitis my oh also had to have a blood test and semen analysis. i also had a hycosy which i think is similar to the hsg it has taken us 18 months to get from our first vist to the docs to our first IUI which was done nearly 2 weeks ago AF is due on wednesday so we will see if it arrives but to be honest i'm losing hope.. Hope you get your BFP!!!!But i know what you mean,you do start to lose hope.Have you tried reflexology or herbs?x

Yup you both have to have bloods done to rule out STIs etc.OH has to do SA.1 thing i will say is tho BE PREPARED FOR HIDDEN COSTS !!!lol.We were origanally told doing our 1st IUI would be around 700 euro and it worked out with bloods SA etc 1,200euro!!!big difference lol.That was without meds.Im just giving you a heads up on that 1 because i was in shock at the time lol.Hope this helped.Any other Qs fire away

Oh ye i also forgot!!!Your smear has to be in date ie.done in the last 3 year time limit
