Need some advice guys, re; ov

Had my scan yesterday which showed a 20mm follicle so due to ovulate within next day or so apparantly, anyway did a opk last night and this morn which were neg, just did another and its now saying positive so when is it likely that I will actually ov, I have read its up to 36 hours after the surge, only thing Im concerned about is Ive been told im bd'ing to much and to go to every other and not more, but im worried now that if Im getting my surge now and shouldnt bd until friday then its going to be too late

How are you advised? I know you can deplete the sperm amount but surely you cant bd to much can you!!??

I think everyone has their own opinion about bd'ing every day. I'm reading a book now that says it's ok to bd everyday around O time as long as your dh doesn't have a low sperm count. I wouldn't miss out on this 0pportunity, I would bd tonight and tomorrow, and if you decided not to bd tonight then tomorrow you should.

Thank you hun, the nurse said you can bd too much and most definatly not to bd every day, bd on monday so she said not until wed (which we did this morn lol) but now Ive had my surge Im wondering If we should again tonight or leave it until 2moro morning, arrgghh so frustrating this ttc sometimes xx

Yes it is but remember that sperm can survive for days, so try not to stress, just make sure you jump your hubby bones 1st thing in the morning!

lol, thanks hun, knowing me I will get all paranoid later and jump him then lol, the frustrating thing I find is not actually knowing how long after the surge you actually do ov, all this up to 36/48 hours doesnt really help xx

I had my day 14 scan on a Thursday. Had 3 mature follies and doc told me I would o between Thursday and Tuesday. DH had a business trip and was gone from Sunday- Tuesday. We bd'd on day 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and day 19. And I got my bfp that cycle.

i got my positive on a saturday night so i bd sat night, sunday night and monday , i never took any notice of the tales sayin you can bd too much ,, although i never did it more than once a day to be fair x

I've heard it both ways, but what I've heard recommended most is bd every other until time of O and then bd 3 days in a row. I've also read that you can't bd too much as long as OH sperm is okay. Also, as someone else mentioned remember that sperm will live long enough, so if bd every other day one of those should catch the egg. Sorry, most frustrating thing about TTC is that there are no absolutes and so many different theories out there.
