Well...we've been all set with our name choices for 5 or 6 months and it turns out my ex is just not going to be in the game plan. He is messed up and needs to get his head straight. Unfortunately, the names we picked out both have something drawn from him AND I liked HIS last name as a match for both as well. (Team Yellow)

Originally, it was supposed to be:

Harleigh Lois Kitt for a girl. Harleigh for the girl variation of my grandfathers name; Lois for a woman he thought of as his mother.

Shane Gregory Kitt for a boy. Shane is his real first name, although he goes by his middle name and Gregory, after my godfather.

Now...the last name will be Grossmann (so flattering, I'm well aware, lol)

I would still love to use Harleigh, but I'm stuck on a middle name and I actually still love Shane with Gregory, but I don't just don't know about naming the baby after him...

I'm frantically searching for boys names, as I never had a whole lot of them picked out anyhow.

What do you think of Nolan or Roman with the middle and last name? Nolan would actually be kind of funny, cuz my family is known to be insanely into baseball.

My last name just doesn't seem to fit with anything I like!!! It sucks!

Well, they both sound fine with the last name Grossmann, in my opinion. Although if you really think FOB is out of the picture then yeah, you might want to omit Gregory and Lois.

Nolan and Roman are handsome names, too. But Roman Grossmann is a little difficult to roll off the tongue, maybe? How about Nolan Shane Grossmann, and for a girl, something along the lines of Harleigh Anne Grossmann? (or another 1-syllable middle name).

I think it's better for the baby to have your last name anyhow -- there are so many forms you will need to fill out for the rest of your lives (doctor's office/insurance/school/etc) -- i personally feel mommy & child should have the same last name! But that's just my preference......

If you like Shane Gregory then i think you should stick with it! Even if you & your ex are no longer together... he is still the FOB (and will prob be in baby's life after birth or eventually) & it's a nice tradition....

Shea/Shae/Shay is also a nice name for a baby boy! (and goes along with your family's love of baseball!!)

I really love Harleigh/Harley & think you should stick with it!

Harleigh Eloise
Harleigh Sophia
Harleigh Rose
Harleigh Kate
Harleigh Jaide
Harleigh Isabella

Not a big fan of Roman or Nolan, sorry...

I think both of the names go fine with your surname.

I also think its best to leave FOB's name out if he is not going to be involved. If however he will still be a part of the babys life then i think using Shane as the middle name would be nice but maybe not his first name. Just my opinion.

I'm not keen on Nolan or Roman to be honest, but i also don't think they fit well with your surname, i think where they end in "n" its too much alltogether.

I think you should still use Harleigh and Gregory as these have special meanings to you. Are there any other names that have a special meaning to you that you could include in the names?.

If not, how about...

Harleigh Rae Grossmann
Harleigh Jo Grossmann
Harleigh Faye Grossmann
Harleigh Jade Grossmann
Harleigh Reese Grossmann
Harleigh Mae Grossmann
Harleigh Kaye Grossmann
Harleigh Rose Grossmann

I'm sure you've thought of it but what about Harley Gregory Grossmann in honour of your grandfather?.

x

You could use his last name as a middle name if you really wanted to have it there.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!

I want to do some short and something very feminine for the middle name if it's a girl. I'm thinking about Rose or Mae, but I'd love any other suggestions you have...

I'm really stuck on boys names...with soooo little time left, lol. I really grew to love Shane...and I almost want to use the name since the ex goes by Matt anyhow and I've never called him Shane. Arrggghhhh...such a tough choice!!
