Negative test, but no period!

Hi all, never posted in this section before! Anyway I just wondered if anyone has ever has a false negative before?? I am 5days late for my period and have been having awful tummy cramps and back pain..and have the feelin..just like i did with my 1st pregnancy.. I was due last thurs and tested fri- it was negative. Again yesterday it was negative. I have been under a lot of stress recently so thought it could be that..but then why do i have this gut feelin i might be. Ive been stressed before but its never affected my cycle. I am also taking antibiotics for a water infection- could this affect the results or delay my period? Has anyone experienced a negative result but actually been pregnant? Thanks!! x

I see there is a picture of your baby breastfeeding? Are you still Breast Feeding? If so that can mess up your cycles. or you can have annovulatory cycles and it takes a while for AF to arrive. If you are really worried about it and can not wait it out for a positive test or AF to arrive, you can get blood work done and get the answer quicker. I had a 77 day cycle last time and never got anything but negative tests. Good luck, i hope the utcome is what you want.

No I do not breast feed anymore, i only did so for a very short while. X

Hi, I had a false negative with my first pregnancy, I would have been about 4 weeks PG. I did another test when I felt sick and it was positive, that would have been 8 weeks gone, but the first test was defo a false negative. Hope you get the outcome you want. x

are you temping? do you know you have already ovulated? If it were me I would go to the drs and get a blood test done just to be sure.

story of my life! i'm 13w4d and i've still not been able to get a positive HPT. I don't really understand it because i've gotten a blood test that's positive. Some women never even get a postive test and still be pregnant.

Re-test in a couple of days. If not, go see your doctor

Well last night i felt sick.. and this afternoon too. My tum is bloated and this morn i founf a tiny bit of pale pink in my knickers and when i wiped so thought maybe the start of my period...but guess what-nothing since..implantation bleeding?

So i took another test (clearblue) and BFN... :S But so many people are tellin me false negs are common, and i stil feel pregs! Iguess im gonna have to wait til fri to find out! x

I have had a false negative but it was after a positive...which of course devestated me...thinking I was pregnant, and then thinking I wasn't....but, my son was born 9 months later...so you never know. Keep testing.. fingers crossed for you.

I too was sure I was pregnant back in September. AF was 3 weeks LATE and I was having crazy period like cramps. Turns out it was the stress from uni starting up again and some changes to my diet (I began fasting).

False negatives are much much more common than false positives. Also, you mentioned you are on antibiotics? I dont know if you are on the pill, but if so, antibiotics can actually make the pill ineffective. Glad you are going to the docs, cause chances are you could be. Good luck, and I hope you get the outcome you want! BTW, I can not believe how big your little man is getting! He is soo cute!
