Neocate vs Neocate Active

My lo has been on Neocate since he was 6m and he is 1 now. So I asked my doctor for Neocate Active (for 12m+ children) which we now have.

Problem is, it comes in ready measured sachets which make up a 10oz feed. The baby Neocate comes as powder so you can make up as much feed as you wish each time.

I can see us wasting a lot of this new milk because in the morning he only has 4 or 5 oz. And I'm not going to hang onto the remainder for the next day.

I don't know whether to just stick with the Neocate original milk, but on the tin it says for 0-12m. What do people think? Will there be anything in the 12
m+ milk that he particularly needs? What would you do, anyone been through this?

Wow, can you not get it in tins like normal Neocate? In Nz we have the 6month + neocate in tins and the 12 month + also in tins.

I do hold on to leftover milk, when she doesnt finish a bottle, i will offer it to her again an hour later. (room temparature at that stage) and she normally finishes it off.

Not sure how much 10oz is. But can you mix up a large batch, put it into bottles that measure the amount your LO will have each feed, so you have it still fresh and dont waste any?

No matter. He has vomited for the last two night after having the Active so I'm going back to just giving him the 1-12m milk. Not sure if he should really be having it though given his is older than 12m, and the doctor not sure either as he is just a gp.

Anyone else give their 12m+ child the baby Neocate?

Shanelley, what is your 6m+ milk called, is it Neocate Junior?

Holly is on Nutramigen AA which is very similar to Neocate. She is 18 months, and still has it - as far as I know they don't make a 12 month + version. Our dietician hasn't said it's a problem for her to be on it, so I'd assume the same applies to Neocate?
