Nervous about 20 week scan - eeek!

Just wanted to share this really, not expected anything back. I have my early 20 week scan today at lunchtime and am incredibly nervous. Deep breath and all that! Is it normal to be this worried? Fingers crossed

I was soooo nervous and worried squeshie! All my friends were like - oh the scans are amazing, they're the best bit! But i was terrified there wouldnt be anything in there before my 12 week scan (!) and then was really worried something would be wrong at the 20 week scan so I totally understand how you're feeling! But I bet you will be absolutely fine. Just try and stay calm beforehand, make sure you have something to eat and drink. Hope you have a nice sonographer who takes you through everything they check - as long as the baby is in the right position it doesnt take very long, 20 mins or so?

Lots of luck and come and let us know when you're done!! Are you finding out if its a boy or a girl?? X

Hi Squeshie!

I think it's perfectly normal to be anxious before a scan, you just want all to be ok with baby. I was anxious before my 12 week scan. Deep breaths! Try not to worry too much and enjoy your scan

I remember up until about 19 weeks all i was bothered about was finding out the sex but then it suddenly hit me, what if something was wrong. So for the next week , right until i was on the bed i was petrified!! Its such a relief when you see that baby on the monitor, wriggling away You'll be fine, just try and relax x

i agree with chappers.. i was all about the sex then suddenly was so so worried about my baby. its normal and he/she is probably perfectly healthy!

Hello have spent ages at the hospital as had to wait to see the specialist, baby has a slight curve in one part of the spine (so we're being monitored). Other than that everything was great, we found out we're having a boy

ah so pleased it was basically all fine! i have been looking out for your post all day. congrats on the boy!! do you have names picked out? bet you're so relieved - i still think back to my scan last week with a big sigh of relief! x

We are relieved that everything is okay apart from the small section of the spine that has a slight curve No names as of yet, I forsee a few heated discussions Thanks for all your support!
