Nervous about brown cm (9.5 weeks)

This is my 5th pregnancy and would be my 3rd baby. With my two healthy pregnancies I never had any spotting or brown cm, also with my last miscarriage it was a mmc and I ended up having a d&c in august (absolutely no signs of losing the embryo for the whole 3-4 weeks).

However the last couple of days with this pregnancy (now 9w5d) I noticed brown cm on the toilet paper (sorry TMI - it's only after a bm). I'm a bit freaked out though I know this can also be considered normal. I found the heartbeat last night with my fetal doppler and all looks good there... but I know with my last mc everything looked great on the ultrasound at 7w2d and I apparently lost him/her a day later. I had more brown today than yesterday.

Just wondering if I should call my doctor or stop being a worry wort.
Also I'm wondering if passing brown cm in 1st trimester is more normal after you've had a natural birth or d&c? Since prior to my d&c my cervix was never dilated more than 1 cm (had to have c-sections with both my kids). Maybe now stuff more easily "gets through"? No idea if that makes sense though.

Thanks for any honest insight. xo

From what I've read, some spotting can be normal. But I would always say, if you're worried, talk to your doctor. If nothing else, he or she will be able to reassure you x

Brown cm after something like a bowel movement is probably very normal, and it's really reassuring you have a doppler and found the hb. But I totally get the fear that comes after a loss.

Definitely call your dr if you're worried, it's what they're there for and if they will do an extra scan for reassurance even better!
