Please know I have 4 children but all by the age of 36. I am now almost 39 and we are ttc.

I would like to know what supplements did people take that they believe were amazingly helpful in getting a BFP? This is our third month with no luck. We have a short window of time because we have decided to try to have a baby before our wedding due to age and other circumstances.

I didn't take any supplements, only Femara. I'm 37 and I got my bfp on my 3rd cycle. It ended just recently in a miscarriage at 5 weeks but that wasn't the femara. But if you ovulate just fine on your own then you likely don't need that. But being older you may not ovulate the same as you did when you were younger and may need a boost.

Do you temp and/or use OPK's? You may want to try the pregnancy forums and see if anyone there can help. I have heard something about soy isoflavens but I don't know anything specific but it seems to be something people use. As well as Vitex and B6. I see the these terms floating around but I don't really know what they are used for.

Hi there, you may also want to check out the other links in this thread. I believe there is trying to conceive over 35 which is an excellent forum. They list all kinds of supplements and other things to help you along.

I am all natural at the moment so I can't be of help there - but check out the other groups, you'll find plenty of helpful info.

Good luck - Hope to see you in the over 35 board.

hi there - I can't swear by them but I'm going through IVF and asked my RE if there were any supplements that I could take to help things out, in addition to the meds. She only suggested prenatals, which I've been taking anyway. She said some people take CoQ10 (which I did roll into my daily intake), Vit D depending on how low yours is (would need a blood test for this, i'd think) and extra Folic Acid (only supposed to take a max of 5000mg of this, I think), but there was no actual research done on their effectiveness so she wasn't going to officially recommend I take them.

Some people roll in maca, royal jelly, and a slew of other things. Just do your research or ask your doc, and make sure you don't take too much of something b/c it could have the opposite effect (I think too much Vit E has an impact, for instance).

Good luck!

Vitax (Angus cactus) 1000mg/day. Helps boost progesterone levels

I take pure folate instead of synthetic folic acid, prenatal, royal jelly, baby aspirin.

In 10 cycles, 2 pregnancies both ended in MC. But did start taking Royal Jelly after the 6th cycle and that's when I got both BFPs. I don't know if its a coincidence.

I take folate , Ubiquinol (the Active Form of CoQ10), PQQ ,royal jelly, red raspberry leaf capsules and a prenatal vitamin daily.
