Hey ladies, im new here, my name is Caillean, and i am 25yrs old, my hubby and i have been ttc for 2yrs now. When we first started trying i never in a million years expected to still be trying after 2yrs, my cycles had always been kind of regular, then in sept last year my period started coming on cd16-18. I thought it was just a fluke and would correct itself, sadly it didnt, in Feb this year my dh and i went to our GP, she thought it was caused by lack of ovulation and so she ordered up some bloods. The Friday of that week i got a call from the nurse at the GP practice to let me know that some of the results were back, so far they all looked good except for my thyroid one, it was sitting borderline and so she told me i was to have it retested in July. About 3weeks later i recieved a letter from my gp asking me to make an appointment, the rest of the results were in. So we called and got an appointment that afternoon. The doctor told us at that appointment that i had high levels of Androgens in my system and that it indicated PCOS, she told me that she was reffering me onto the obgyn clinic at the hospital and that i was to prepare myself for medical help. So we waited. In May i got an appointment through for the obgyn. My first appointment was June 1st this year. We went down and as usual they were running late. We eventually got called in and the doctor asked us a ton of questions about our medical history and our cycles. She told us the doctor hadnt sent on my blood work that had been done but said she would do some bloods and also a pelvic exam. The pelvic exam as usual was a pain to do because i have scar tissue so she couldnt see or feel anything, i told her that i have to have my smear tests done at the hospital because of this and the doc that normally does my smear tests is the head of the dept so she went and spoke to him. When she came back she tried to get some blood and of course couldnt (i dont do blood tests very well), she got a tiny amount and decided to send off for my past blood work and also to check and see if i was up to date with my rubella. She ordered up 2 S/A's for dh and told me to have weekly blood work done once my period started. At this point i was sitting on cd42. Then she gave me an appointment for 3 months time. When we got home dh called the pathology lab for his first sample drop off. He done both tests 2 weeks apart. Through out the 3months my period didnt come, thinking of course at one point i was pregnant. The nurse at my gp practice was really good and at my thyroid blood test in July she ran a beta which was negative and told me she was going to start running blood tests to see what my body was doing although AF wasnt there. On August 15th (after 116 days) my period finally arrived, and i made my appointment to get my weekly bloods started on cd7. My next gyn appointment was on August 31st, at that appointment i was diagnosed with PCOS and non ovulation (Annovulation). The doctor has decided to start me on Cloimid 50mg this month to see if i ovulate, if not 100mg next month and again if no ovulation 150mg the next month. She gave me Norethisterone 5mg to take daily for 5 days to induce my period. Then i was told to take clomid cd2-6. she told me that if i didnt ovulate on Clomid in those 3 cycles then they wouldnt keep trying as it is unlikely i will ovulate on it at all. She told me that if the Clomid fails she is refering me onto the Fertility Specialist at another hospital, where they will run more tests, and possibly remove some scar tissue, then we are looking at IUI for a few cycles and then IVF.
I am currently on cd4 day 3 of Clomid, so far i have had a very very dry mouth and today i have been having hot flushes and some dizzyness. I dont expect the clomid to work miracles but i really do hope it gets me ovulating at the very least, call it cautious optimism :winkwink:

I look forward to getting to know you all, lots of babydust to you all! :dust:
