DH and I have been TTC for just about 1 yr now for #2. Our daughter we concieved no problems after 2 months of trying. Now #2 is taking much longer. DDis now 3yrs old.

I have been using OPK's the whole time and the last few months the Clearblue fertility monitor. I do get to peak every month, but have never really seen any EWCM. I get the rest of the stages.

in December my OB sent me for some bloodwork including the 21 day progesterone (which I went for 7 days after I got the peak on my monitor) my level was 7.86 ng/mL She agreed to let me start on Clomid 50mg in March. I just finished my first cycle and got back my 21 day bloodwork and it was 5.66ng/ml  I was so dissapointed!

Everywhere I looked online it says that unmedicated you should be over 5 minimum and medicated over 10 minimum (most places said higher)

I talked to my Dr who said anything over 0.63 confirms ovulation :nope: and to stay on 50mg for one more month. I feel like its a waste of a month & another round of wasted clomid - she will only allow me 3 months before a few month break.

I guess at this point Im thinking is she right? Could I have ovulated? Why would it be so low? my average LP is 11 or 12 days I ovulate around day 17 or 18.

Any Advice?
I should add I converted the measurements from nmol/l since Im in Canada (in nmol/l in December I was 25,March I was 18 & Dr said over 2 confirms ovulation)

my FS says progesterone NEEDS to be at least 25nmol/L to sustain a pregnancy. Your levels will probably be a tiny bit better next cycle but I would push for a higher dose or different drugs if you can.

Agreed... my FS likes to see prog at 30+ for a good strong Ov. If you have a healthy bmi and didn't Ov on 50mg clomid I would absolutely push for 100mg. If doc won't prescribe perhaps ask for a second opinion. Good luck!

keep in mind you are only allowed 6 months worth in a life time you dont want to waste on of those months on a dose that isn't high enough for you.

Not true. I have taken about a year and a half worth of clomid ( at least!). That 6 months is a suggestion, not mandatory and there are lots of us who have used more than 6 months of clomid. It took me 150mg before I finally ovulated well and progesterone at 19 days (21 was on a Sunday, so they opted to do it early) and it was 27.3! so I was still on the rise. The level should be above 15 for day 21, and rise to above 25 or so in the first weeks of pregnancy. Good luck!!!

brittles your progesterone is measured in a different measurement than ours are judging by the numbers you are talking about and 6 cycles is about average for the amount of months any doctor will give you unless you move onto IUI with it and even then you are a rare case being allowed to take sooooo many cycles worth. Some doctors as 1xBlessed well knows will not even let you do the 6 months worth. Over in the states they tend to give them out like candy but it is a lot harder to even get given clomid in other countries.
